I was only 2 that year but I have learned quite a bit about Jim Jones and the People’s Temple.I could tell that something was not right about JJ just by looking at him.It’s scary that one person could have so much power over so many people.The fact that a Congressman went to investigate Jonestown himself is amazing.Leo Ryan,to me,was a brave man.I admire what he did.I think he was one of the good guys as far as politicians go.How many others would have gone down there to investigate? Could you see Obama doing that? I think Ryan really did care about the concerns of the Temple member’s loved ones.What he did was not only brave but commendable.It’s too bad he had to pay with his life.
