This Is America, Stupid!
The American Thinker ^ | November 2, 2010 | Kyle-Anne Shiver

Posted on 11/02/2010 12:49:27 AM PDT by Scanian

A nation holds its collective breath. America's pivotal election is today. We will either put the brakes on the Democrat-socialists' drive to transform us into a failing European-style social democracy or we continue to hurtle toward the cliff of no return.

Voters have waited through long, suffering months to make their voices heard at last.

Democrats have made an unprecedented mockery of representative government, ignoring the will of the people with arrogant disdain. Elitist hypocrites who campaigned on "love" for the poor party hearty on the hard-earned money of America's producers, jet to debauchery-ridden Europe to scorn our good name, and come back home only to spend our children into serfdom. The words "public servant" have almost become synonymous with "tax cheat." American companies are threatened with open thuggery by a power-mad administration of academics who wouldn't know how to actually produce a single cent if their very lives depended upon it.

The Democrats and their president line up in bowing and scraping infamy before the Islamists, throwing America under the bus of cowardly appeasement. A Democrat president still sends America's finest young people to war and ties their hands with hideous rules of engagement and withdrawal timetables, which inevitably make our bravest into cannon fodder.

I agree with you about the writing...

You’d be surprisd by the number of critical posts I get knocking them for typos, misspellings, and other trivial stuff when the quality of the essays is so uniformly high.

I’m not that well-versed on VA politics...we have enough headaches here in FL...but I did see your governor in an interview last week and he was very optimistic about a GOP tidal wave in your state.

Best of all, Alan Grayson (FL-8) is a goner! Webster +7 pts.

Best of all, Alan Grayson (FL-8) is a goner!

So, in Lauderdale your Rep. would be Debbie the Poodle?

It would be great to get rid of her but that district is so gerrymandered and so packed with NYers that I can’t see her ever going away unless serious re-districting takes place.

I hear ya...

They want our weather and our tax laws but they insist on bringing their liberal voting habits with them.

That whole SE FL area is gerrymandered to look like a bowl of spaghetti...ridiculous map to look at.

But Democrats have decided to transform America from the top-down position of tyrants, boldly challenging the people to resist.

And resist we shall!

Power has been abused (filing suit against Arizona) and exploited by Democrats. It's unbelievable that the US government is suing an American state for resisting invasions from foreign criminals! Then, remember on May 19th, all Democrats stood to cheer a foreign leader who had just condemned Arizona law makers for protecting American citizens. Evidence that liberals cannot rely on reasonable adults for votes.

Forget the polls, forget the media spin. Go to the ballot box and put an end to the Dem Party. Throw this putrid bunch out on their heads.

I voted absentee yesterday and turns out my ballot was marked EXACTLY as suggested by Praeger. I’m turning more and more for advice to various conservative websites when faced with confusing ballot initiatives. The first rule is NO TAXES, NO BOND ISSUES. I’ve also discovered the Judge Voter Guide as well and find it a reliable measure of the person seeking a judgeship. Unfortunately, this time round, all the state level judge candidates got terrible ratings, so it was a “NO” vote against them all.

Lastly, this is the first time in ages we do not have a single bond issue to spend $2 GAZILLION dollar to rescue some heretofore unknown species, pay for murdering embryos to harvest their cells, or build a super-duper shiny new toy somewhere in the state.

On a more positive note, Allen West has a good shoot at beating Ron Klein in neighboring FL-22. He was ahead of Klein by 3 points in the last poll I saw.

It is a Travesty that The good LTC is only three points ahead of Klien!!! This man should be our next president.
