Did Glenn Beck just say dingy Harry is ahead by 7 in Nevada?

Isn’t Reid Jr in a position to sway it in his favor?

That stinks.

I’m not getting what happened. If the woman was in charge of the polling place, how did she come to be in the parking lot with her motor running? Was this before the polling place opened? Did she load ballots or did the two guys load ballots or was no loading of ballots observed? Were the ballots already in the car and this was a milk run delivering ballots to polling locations?

How timely.

However, if only it had come out a little sooner.

What I’ve seen/heard in a nutshell: Lots and lots of really PI$$ED people. People who were in the process of voting, had voted, or were going to vote. I saw people going over their prospective ballots with a fine tooth comb, and that was before they wrote anything. One thing I didn’t come across: ‘Rats voting ‘Rat. I’m sure there are plenty, but this year they’re not admitting to it. Wow.

“Washington may have some early indications, despite its late “poll closing” time because a majority of the state’s vote is done by mail. The vote by mail numbers indicate that this “off year” election could be the highest turnout since 1970.”

“Election officials have taken a look at the turnout from Democrat and Republican areas in the early voting process and found the turnout numbers are slightly down in traditional Democrat strongholds, which could be enough for Republican challenger Dino Rossi to defeat Sen. Patty Murray”.

“First indications from the state are expected around 11:15 p.m. ET tonight.”

“At midnight ET, the results will start coming in on the three-way U.S. Senate race between incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who lost the Republican primary and is running as a write-in candidate, Republican Joe Miller and Democrat Scott McAdams has drawn huge voter interest in Alaska.”

“Figures just released from the state’s Division of Elections show that early voting on this off-election year is nearly double from that of 2006 — the previous non-presidential year. More than 17,000 people have cast their ballots this time, including absentee ballots.”

Sure hope I have to eat my earlier words regarding O’Donnell, but not letting myself become optimistic yet. Should the unthinkable happen, let us dine together. My words won't stick in my craw but taste syrupy-sweet and divine to the tongue.

Lots and lots of really PI$$ED people.

Oh, yeah. I saw a guy leave my voting place pumping his fist. On his rear window was "Got Moose?" This is only starting.

Urban areas here, urban areas there. Seems like a theme. I don’t want to get fired from NPR or anything, but it seems to me that most people would want to vote in urban areas in the daytime. Just saying.

thanks — good news. In So. Calif the only pissed off people I saw were the poll workers in a very light turnout. I was close to reporting one of ‘em for giving the wrong info to a lady who couldn’t decide whether to drop her absentee ballot into the box or go ahead and vote at the precinct. the poll worker told her that “I will be opening up each of the absentee ballots at the close of the day and yours will get counted.” I chimed in with — “you’d better not be opening up the absentees until the signatures are verified in L.A.” The voter chose to vote at the precinct.

Damn it, I want all the results NOW! But I will have to settle for a mamager’s special donut at DD, man those things are sweet.

Is it really possible to exceed the incredible expectations we have been hearing for months? Maybe so.

I’m a big Palin fan, but her role in O’Donnell’s win has been vastly overstated. She endorsed her either the Thursday or Friday before the primary. COD was already ahead in some polls, and already had tons of momentum. She likely would have won without Palin’s endorsement, or Demint’s.

Palin in a sense was forced into endorsing her. After supporting other Tea Party folks like Paul and Miller, and after her whole Mama Grizzly thing and supporting other women, how could she not endorse a Tea Party backed woman? She would have looked pretty bad. Also, she probably sensed that COD was going to win so she got on board knowing she’d likely reap some benefits.

The reason the media gave it so much play is that they think Palin is toxic and that any coverage of her helps the dems and Obama. So they highlighted O’Donnell-Palin connection in the hopes that voters nationwide would say O’Donnell=Palin=Tea Party=GOP=Boehner=GOP Congress. They think if they can make Palin out to be the face of the GOP, they’ll win this year and in 2012. They’ve tried with so many others(Rush, Beck, Cheney, W, Boehner, etc...) She’s all they have left.

Regardless of what happens in DE, it clearly hasn’t worked.

Actually, that was an excellent piece of writing from Reid’s office and shows great humor. Reminds me of Mark Twain stuff.

Thanks for sharing. I had a good laugh. :)

I held my nose and voted McCain only because the Senate is so important right now. Any other time, I would have voted for the Libertarian.

I did the same.
