This doesn’t mean he’s challenging Boehner. It means he’s taking JB’s job as JB moves up.

I was touched by it too. A guy who was one of twelve kids has achieved a dream.
I hope he does well for us.

Mike Pence would be better but this is ok. Boehner had his chance and lost to gavel to Pelosi. And what was with the balling last night. Man up John Boy.

Cantor is not “trying to go around” anyone!!
Boehner as #1 is moving up from Minority Leader to Speaker of the House
Cantor as #2 is moving from Minority Whip to Majority Leader
these positions have to be confirmed by vote of the R. caucus in the House when the new Congress convenes in Jan. but I don’t think there’s any doubt that Boehner will be SOH and Cantor will be Majority Leader
no one is being displaced or challenged by Cantor running for the position of Majority Leader(whether or not one wishes for a shake-up)

The n00bies might have a whole different set of ideas.
The Freshman class will be a rather sizeable number, and they may come in with their own list of leadership candidates.
They got elected to change Washington, not to accept the status quo.

10:45 EST or CST? If EST 10:45 has come and gone. I’ve been watching FNC for the past hour and there’s been nothing about this. CNN is full of it, as usual

Pence may run for President.

That was such an opportunity last night for Boehner to be heard by so many people in the nation. Not against him shedding a tear but his message was not articulated well and the blubbering was a detraction. Get a grip man!

Yeah, right! I suppose you are giving RNC Chairman Steele a lot of credit for the pubs victory too?
Bohner is just a good old boy. The pubs needs some new leadership with fresh ideas and Bohner is not it. He is from the past. He will not challenge obamma nor the democrats. He will play to get along.
The pubs need to think of the future, if they want to add onto their victory. I like Pence too, but I’m do not thi nk he would run.

Pence is playing it smart and will be the fall-back Speaker.
Rumor is than Pence is giving up leadership status with the intent of running for governor in 2012.

Eric Cantor...no way, no how.
Wouldn’t be prudent!!

“Disagree with your whole assessment of Boehner. He was a fine minority leader and will be a fine Speaker.”
I agree, Boehner caught on very early that the worm had turned and jumped on board the Tea Party Train. I believe in redemption, and Boehner has been reborn, brought back to being a true Conservative.
He has my support until he shows me otherwise.
