I just love Michelle. She was great with that ignorant piece of slime Chris Matthews last night.

I’m prolly in the minority here, but I was touched by Boehner’s words last night.

After I heard it, a thought occurred to me. Obama should listen to it. And listen to it again. And one more time, just for good measure.

Because perhaps if he did, Obama might “get it.” Boehner’s life experience mirrors most Americans’ experience and it’s why we fight so hard. Good grief, a child of a big family, helping out with the family business who works his way through school. That is at least half the people I have ever known in my life.

BUT IT IS NOTHING OBAMA HAS EVER KNOWN. Everything was handed to him. Boehner’s experience is as foreign to Obama as Obama’s experience is foreign to us.

For those who haven't yet figured it out - Cantor is not putting his name in the running for Speaker - that is Boehner. Cantor is running for Majority Leader - the same position Steny Hoyer has for the Dems under Pelosi.

It's a little arcane, but the Majority Leader and Minority Leader positions are the leaders for each caucus. The Speaker is the leader of the House. Technically, the Speaker doesn't have to be a member of the majority party - he/she doesn't even have to be a member of the House. Theoretically, the House could vote for a non-member to be Speaker. In practice, however, the Speaker is always from the majority party, and is usually whoever was the Minority Leader before their party took the Majority.

Prolly need to expand on that a bit. No one seems to be getting it.
Like...nancy pelosi is Speaker
She will be replaced by Boehner
Cantor is backing Boehner for Speaker.
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer

Cantor is right on the issues but he has that sophisticated urban squish demeanor-—not enough moxie IMHO.

Cantor is a squishy RINO. Who was the DeMint in the House during this election?

“Remember him dropping the 2000 page bill on the floor?”

Yes. I remember. Brer Rabbit simply regrouped when he lay low. He was never at rest. And he loved the briar patch.

You’re both right. He’s quick on his feet and presents a fresh face, but he is also a career, Establishment opportunist. Sounded strange to hear him talk this morning of how he and the other “Young Guns” were recruiting Reps to come and serve for a time, not as career pols.

The top 5 or 7 people in each party are called “leadership”. Not sure what positions they hold or in which order. Speaker, Majority Leader, Whip, etc. They also call them “Cardinal” ala Vatican. I do not know who Cantor is trying to go around, but this is like NASCAR at this point. They are jockeying for position.

Not to change the subject, but I think it would be swell to see a Rat rebellion against Dirty Harry for Senate Majority Leader.

I disagree. As much as I dislike Reid, I would much rather have an ineffective fool like him as Senate Majority Leader than someone like Schumer...

I got bupkis from you on the Super Secret Superhero Organization.

My Superhero ability to harness my farts and put them into pressurized tanks to sell for bags of rice isn't enough?

I mean, look at me!
