“Maine goes red”

The state of Maine now has a state senate, state house and governorship run by the GOP. Have not had that since 1962 hence ‘ Maine goes Red ‘.

Hope it’s red enough to escort Snowe and Collins to the door their next election.

this is horrible to say and I apologize, but if Snowe or Collins have any serious health problems......hmmmmm....

the beauty of having pub governors....it may be the only chance in some states to get rid of literal and figurative dead weight...

I don't think this lesson will be lost on the weak sisters. Neither is that stupid.

You will still see them being peeled off on close votes with Scott Brown, but I think this is the only signal they will need to start distancing themselves from ObaMao.

I’m in Maine....the state did, in fact go red....but not on the federal level.

The new governor, GOP TEA party candidate Paul LaPage, received two votes for every one vote the democrat moonbat, Libby Mitchell received. He beat her 2 to 1. His main competition was Eliot Cutler, an “idependent” but life long dem. 95% of the vote has been counted so far....most of us use paper ballots. Of 520,000 votes cast, LePage won by 7,500 votes.

The Maine State House....similar to the California assembly.... won a small GOP majority last night for the first time since 1974. The Maine Senate was also won by the GOP.

Our two federal house districts remain in dim hands....the GOP challenger in the 1st Congressional district was leading by 4 points....he lost to a moonbat by 14 points. So much for polls.

Snowe and Collins supported LePage for governor.....sometimes, those two are on the right side.

It’s a good start. Go ahead and celebrate. The redder Maine gets, the harder it will be for the RINO sisters to wallow in jackass poop. It’s time to turn them out to pasture.

NH turned back to the Red as well. Ayotte (R) beat Hodes (D, congressman) for Judd Gregg’s (R) seat. Bass (R) beat Kuster (D) for Hodes’s seat in the House. Guinta (R) beat Shea-Porter (D), the incumbant in our other house seat.
At the state level, the state house and state senate both went from majority D to majority R.
Lynch (D), the governor, won by narrow margin. We have another try in 2 years. Shaheen (D) is Senator until the 2014 election...

The National Media hasn’t realized just how deep these defeats run, yet.

This hasn’t happened since RECONSTRUCTION in many places!!

Don’t let the media kid you. Conservatism is true blue. Red was wiped off the map yesterday.

I know what the media will show you. And it will all be red. That’s B.S.

The Reds lost their ass yesterday.

FoxNews showed a map late last night. It was almost totally red up to the Rocky Mountains. Read that, true blue.

Would we have accomplished that with McCain at the helm? Not a snow ball’s chance in hell...

We took over 19 state houses yesterday, and reapportionment is a few months away.

The effects of this election will be felt for a decade. And that means that state houses across the nation will be more likely to break for Republicans.

Nice work Obama. If I had known not voting for McCain was going to be this productive, I might have voted for Obambi myself.

In 2012 the Senate is ours. The White House will likely be too. Wow.

True blue...

In states like Maine and NY, an electable GOPOS who caucuses with the GOP is better than a “Independent” or Dim who caucuses with the Dims.

That was Karl Rove's point...

Nah. Not so. Baltimore City, PG and Montgomery counties have always predominated and given us Rats.

Maryland also appears to have a well honed machine for fraud - which they used liberally.

Paul LePage, the tea party conservative, won yesterday in Maine.

Snowe, if she doesn’t announce that she’s running as an independent before then, will lose in the primary.

I think that she should just run as an independent. Announce that she’s doing that as early as possible.

She’d probably win, if yesterday’s results are any indication.

Cutler, the independent, lost to the Republican by less than 2 points.

We’d come up with a solid conservative in the Republican Primary. The Dems would come up with a liberal in the Democrat Primary. Neither primary would be covered much by the media. They’d take a poll in November 2009 showing results like Snowe 50%, D 25%, R 25% and declare that Snowe is unstoppable and the elections would not be worth covering. So, it would be Snowe vs 2 unknowns.

Results? Snowe 40% Conservative 35% Liberal 25%.

Mitchell the D Governor candidate just got 19%. Democrats readily jump off the D train to pick “whoever will stop the conservative”.

For Republicans, it’s not a bad deal. If Snowe, right now, ran as an Independent, it would pretty be pretty much assured that the Democrat wouldn’t win.

That race would end up as Snowe vs the Conservative.
