The White House will, of course, stay in Washington but the heart of the famous building will move to India when President Barack Obama lands in Mumbai on Saturday.
Communications set-up, nuclear button, a fleet of limousines and majority of the White House staff will be in India accompanying the President on this three-day visit that will cover Mumbai and Delhi.
He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday. The measure has been taken as Mumbai attack in 2008 took place from the sea.

An entire Carrier Strike Group is about 10-12 ships, and that would be more than enough to do the job.
I can't find exact numbers, but I think 34 ships is about as many ships as we normally have in the Persian Gulf war zone....
OK, what if, and I’m just tossing this out there for discussion, but what if, instead of an October Surprise, he’s thinking a November Surprise? Follow me on this. We’ve all heard the scuttlebutt about the his Soviet connection, and if on a long shot it were actually true, that he was a Soviet mole, what template would that make for explaining his actions? We just had a “glitch” in our nuclear response arsenal out in Wyoming, what was it, 50 offline for no particularly good reason? He’s taking with him everything he would need to manage some large event that would warrant a nuclear response, not just the football, but the whole command and control apparatus. Hugh and series? Or too far fished?

This whole thing smacks of arrogance, indifference, and a sense of entitlement. It is typical of Democrats...party hardy and let someone else pay the bill.
What in the .....????? Okay, I’m not going for the conspiracy theories, but this is just bizarre. And beyond the pale, given the economic conditions we’re facing.
Is ANYONE in our media making an issue of this? Main/Lame, not alternate. It bears repeating — if this was GWB’s jaunt it would be headlining 24/7.
I thought the same thing. But why would he? I hope Rush is on today. It will be interesting to get his take on this.
