Obama greets people on Diwali

Washington: US President Barack Obama on Thursday greeted people across the globe on the occasion of Diwali and said that he is looking forward to his India visit.

Obama arrives in Mumbai a day after Diwali and this year he would be celebrating the festival of lights with school children in the financial capital of India.

"Tomorrow, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, here in America and around the world, will celebrate the holiday of Diwali the festival of lights," Obama said in his Diwali message.

"This is a day when members of some of the world's oldest religions celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Last year, I marked this holiday as many will this weekend by lighting the Diya, or lamp. This lamp symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance," he said.

"Diwali is a time for celebration, but it is also a time for reflection a time when we must remember that there are always others less fortunate then ourselves. This holiday reminds us all that we should commit ourselves to helping those in need. For many, this is also a time to gather with family and to pray," Obama said.

On the first day after the mid term elections

the taxpayers gave to me

forty aircraft

thirtyfour battleships

one 12x12 bombproof tunnel

a three thousand person entourage

including two hundred top CEO’s from America

My personal chef

One barack mobile with the nuke codes and switch

Three bogus mobiles...and

A TWO BILLION DOLLAR HOLIDAY!

‘34 battleships’

To be more exact that is ‘34 warships’. We have never had 34 Battleships at one time and now have zero.

SECOND VERSE:

On the second day after the mid term elections,

I signed an executive Order

Of succession within the Department of Justice

While questions were being asked;

Why was the Department of Homeland Security

NOW distributing Emergency Supplies

And a Freeper says ‘I just got a robo call today from our county sheriff’s office to sign up on their website for “Code Red”

by leaving our contact telephone, cell numbers, etc. They have never done that before.’

But I don’t care, let THEM worry,

I’M ON MY TWO BILLION DOLLAR HOLIDAY!

According to the Bhagavad Gita descriptions, he’s of a demoniac nature and I’m sure Ganesha and Durga (Diwali, or in proper Sansrit, Dipavali is a holiday celebrating her victory over a great demon) view him as an enemy. One of Durga’s duties is to destroy the demons, and he’s got to be on the list. He’s a small insignificant demon in the scheme of things.

Australian Pines, that’s what we call them. They are invasive and nasty. They kill any native plants around them. Did you move to Sanibel? We used to go shelling there in the winter after a cold front. Nice area, but hot as hell in the summer. I prefer the East coast weather and water.

Australian Pines! Yes...they are very weedy. After our discussions (and your helpful pictures of Sanibel specimens) I was embarrassed to note for the first time that our development had planted several Norfolk Pines which are now gigantic and put large brass plaques at the base with the name clear as day.

I live by the Caloosahatchee just before you get to Sanibel. I had a dolphin accompanying me on my midnight (slow) walk along the seawall, but I really felt guilty flushing the Great Blue Herons and Night Herons who like to do night fishing using the lamps along the walkway.
