Stupid idea. You might get the vast majority of their air force and navy, but Iran can easily shut down the Straits of Hormuz using a bunch of their truck launched C-802 anti-ship missiles (thanks China.)

When we start shooting at the Iranians it can't be half-@ssed. You hit all those targets along with all their petroleum refining capacity. They are a large producer of oil, but an importer of refined petroleum products. After all that you are going to have to run an area denial operation fifty miles inland for the whole of the Iranian side of the straits.

The key is really going to be that refining capacity and POL storage facilities. Take that out and they should be asking for terms in a couple weeks, regardless of what else happens.

For what it’s worth, talkradio’s blog used to be called “hotairpundit.blogspot.com” and is now called “hapblog.com.” It’s possible that hotair.com asked/made talkradio change the web site name because of reader confusion over the connection between the two web sites.
