George W. Bush: "Find out who was responsible and Kick their Ass"

The terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001, gave his administration a clear goal and him the resolve to find out who was responsible and "kick their ass," former President George W. Bush writes in his new book.

In "Decision Points," Bush describes his reaction when his then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice informed him of the crash of a third airplane into the Pentagon.

"I sat back in my seat and absorbed her words. My thoughts clarified: The first plane could have been an accident. The second was definitely an attack. The third was a declaration of war," the former president writes in his 481-page book, which goes on sale Tuesday.

"My blood was boiling. We were going to find out who did this, and kick their ass," Bush writes.

"In a single morning, the purpose of my presidency had grown clear: to protect our people and defend our freedom that had come under attack."

I agree. On Sept 12 I would have drawn a big circle in the desert outside of Kabul and said: "Bin Laden. Here. You have 24 hours or you start losing a city an hour, starting with this one, until you comply."

Now *that's* lateral thinking. I like it a lot.

According to this, to GWB, the 3rd was war:

“The first plane could have been an accident. The second was definitely an attack. The third was a declaration of war,”

Whatever his other failings, this is why I like and respect Dubya. He wanted to protect his fellow Americans from being attacked, and was prepared to do so by any means necessary. I always felt safe when he was President. Now, not so much.

That picture on the bottom says it all about President Bush. Nothing fake about that.

You are such a bleeding heart liberal. Why stop at Afghanistan? My thoughts were, NUKE: Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and to clean up the gene pool, France.

Serious, we needed to let people know you don’t attack America without consequences.

And you don’t know jack about what I do or don’t know; seems like the one prerequisite for participation on this site is pretense. God is also love and He gave up His only Son for us out of love, not wrath; perhaps you are focusing too much on one and not enough on the other.

This picture is the true story about Ashley Faulkner of Lebanon, Ohio meeting President George W. Bush.

I met GWB several times, He was a solid kind of guy. He would take no crap from anyone. He also said what he meant. If you didn’t like it, tough titties.

Now that you mention it, I'm trying to figure out why we shouldn't *start* with France.

That would send a really excellent message: Don't harbor Muslims. Don't screw us over. Take a shower.

Yes, take a shower. Decontamination showers would become a good habit.

I couldn't agree with you more!

We should abolish all these stupid rules of engagement and let out military do what they are designed to do, kill people and break things.

We need to have a shot gun approach. Collateral damage is unfortunate, but after enough of it the bastards will surrender. This targeted approach is pure idiocy. Just like targeted tax cuts. What a bunch of BS.
