Michelle persuades her reluctant-looking husband to accompany her on the dance floor in Mumbai
US President Barack Obama joined in the celebrations for the Hindu festival of light, Diwali, on Sunday by dancing with children at a school in Mumbai during his visit to India.
Obama and his wife, Michelle, initially sat on the sidelines at the Holy Name School in the south of the city, clapping to the beat as youngsters in colourful costumes performed a traditional dance for the annual festival.
The First Lady, in a checked dress with pink cardigan, then joined in enthusiastically and eventually persuaded her more reluctant-looking husband to accompany her on the dancefloor.
The president, with his suit jacket off and the sleeves of his white shirt rolled up, was then shown how to perform the distinctive hand and arm gestures that are an integral part of Indian dancing.
Children then clamoured for photographs of the couple and autographs.
It is the second time that Michelle Obama has danced with children on the trip and her eager embrace of the local routines appears to be winning over the hearts of her hosts.
On Saturday, she danced barefoot to Bollywood tunes on a visit to a charity that helps orphans and runaways in India's financial and entertainment hub, with the footage shown extensively on local news channels.
Diwali, which fell on Friday, is marked by several days of noisy celebrations in Hindu-majority India, although police banned the setting off of powerful firecrackers around the Obamas' hotel for security reasons.
Dayum, the first lady is FLY.

Don’t bother watching. Untalented children jumping around in Indian dance (I have seen this way too much lately). About half way through, Moochelle starts jumping and “dancing,” looking more like Refrigerator Perry after a touchdown than a First Lady.
O-acorn starts to “dance” at the 2/3 mark, looking stiff as a board with no grace. Just silly.
These two are a major embarrassment.
Meanwhile in our fine country, unemployment is at 17%
Doubt is the Obamas would be jumping up and down if they were in the streets of Calcutta or Napal with the kids barely dressed and starving.
Mother Teresa would have put the money spent on this shindig to better use.
IMHO, more economic upturn could have occurred at less cost if Obama would have just teleconferenced with Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and those other companies that outsource service industry jobs overseas. That would be one way to create Millions of jobs here in the USA immediately.
And what kind of Big Mac's does McDonald's serve to Hindi's?
Looks like “It’s a Small World” in Disney.
Actually I didn’t have a problem with this. Anytime he gets away from acting like a sour-faced, hectoring, lecturing marxist professor its a relief.
Hey! Watch your mouth...errr ...fingers
Michele is discovering her TRIBAL ROOTS at YOUR DIME.
Wow that woman can not dance not a lick of rhythm there!
He is such a stick figure.
Ok, if they are visiting all these historical places and schools, then where are the girls? Huh? Does granny have them locked up in a hotel room or what? Shouldn’t the girls be there dancing with the students?
I love the title: “Dancing Obamas”
There’s got to be a homemade parody video in there somewhere that will make liberal heads explode.
Hey, how about a South Park episode?
The First Lady’s dress looks like what my mother always called a housedress .
And you do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around...
The obamas dance to the tune of 2 million/day while Rome burns.
Time for them to experience change and suffer just like we do. May they enjoy the uncertainty of the future as we do.
Is it 2 million or 200 million. Honestly, 2 million now actually sound more reasonable, as sick at that sound.
