In an election marked by dramatic defections from the Democratic Party, older voters swung hardest, seemingly threatened by President Barack Obama’s mantra of change. Voters over 65 favored Republicans last week by a 21-point margin after flirting with Democrats in the 2006 midterm elections and favoring John McCain by a relatively narrow 8-point margin in 2008. Concerned by changes to Medicare and compelled by a Republican Party that promised a return to America’s glory days, seniors played a crucial — and often understated — role in races across the country.

Tough luck because the seniors and baby boomers who voted Obama in (2008) effing destroyed the effing country.

And they'll do it again in 2012, if they even think they are losing (or not getting an extra) single red cent.

These polls are clear, the seniors would cut everything else before they would take a single cut to themselves, and that "cut" will include the GOP if the rats make more of these insane promises.

They aren't going to vote for reality when it comes to entitlement reform, hell, they voted against dems because of the COLA issue, they'll vote those dems right back in again, if they don't get guaranteed every red cent...

They fear, with some justification, the “death panels.” Yes, the panels’ existence were mocked and derided by the MSM. But Mengele like ghouls like Emmanuel's brother and the cold eyed baby-killer Sebelius continue to infest the Administration. And I muyself heard our icy, unfeeling president lament the extensive, expensive, end-of-life care that had been given to his own grandmother, the white one, the one who raised him. The context was chilling: at a forum, a woman appeared to be appealng for her mother's life “she is near a hundred but she is very alert, would her care be rationed?” Obama was not reassuring. “We are going to have to make some tough choices”, he said. This was very early in the health care debate, before the stuff hit the fan over death panels. At this early stage, Obama seemed to assume that, as president, he would wield life or death power over the elderly.

Are you a total idiot? Voters over 44 were not the ones that voted in Obama, it was the under 44 year olds.

I'm not saying they are democrats, or republicans, I think they are pragmatic voters, who vote their own interests....

Obama won without out them (as noted in the same article above), but the rest of the Rat party needs them.

If the GOP goes after entitlements (which need to be cut or reformed, or something, because this country is going broke), the Rats, will run on opposition, and win elections (and then continue bankrupting the country).

What needs to be done, it a way to incremental work this....

Republicans need to continually remind the senior citizens that:

$500 Billion dollars in benefits have been removed from Medicare

There have been no COLA increases, but inflation in food prices is going through the roof

The hyper-inflation that is coming is the result of Quantitative Easing that is going on right now. It is going to rob 20% of whatever savings they have set aside for retirement. This needs to be tied directly to Obama/Geitner.

Death Panels were not a figment of Sarah Palin's imagination, but are going to kill many useless elderly "eaters".

There were NO Republican votes for Obamacare

This needs to be repeated again, and again, and again.

Everyone is talking about The Jobs it is going to cost,the Taxes and Premium increases,the Doctors who will leave the Profession,but how about the Just plain Humanity!
Women would be Howling if the Government was in the examination room when they were getting ready to Abort their babies with instructions to the doctor to Stop or you will be subject to fines of One Hundred thousand dollars on the First offense and Jail for second offense.
Now that is what ALL of us over the age of 45 are facing Having the Government in the Doctors office telling the Doctor he cant provide treatment because we are to old and the treatment is to expensive,dont take my word for it ,read the work of the “Coordinating Council On Comparitive Effectiveness Research” Chaired By Ezekiel Emmanuel,Author of the “Complete Lives System”
This Council was set up as a tack on to the Stimulus Package that no one read,this Council got a 1.1 billion dollar Budget to set up the Structure on how to off all of us Grandparents.
So when you all the Talking Heads spewing their BS about Preexisting Conditions, premium increases,Lost Jobs etc. Remember,the Real EVIL is in the Structure of this Monstrosity and tinkering with a couple tenets will not do any good and the socialists know it,the Control of your decisions with your doctor is what they want and if you are to old your fate will be in their hands not yours or your doctors.
