It took them four days? Four minutes would have sufficed for me. Heard on Fox that some of the jurors were crying—hope not for him!

This is The Peoples Republic of CT. Of course they were crying for him.

I doubt anyone was weeping for this animal but for they way they tortured these girls.

Hayes is convicted of raping and choking Hawke-Petit to death, while accused accomplice Joshua Komisarjevsky is accused of sexually assaulting 11-year-old Michaela Petit. Michaela and her older sister Hayley, 17, died after they were tied to their beds and the house was set on fire.

Too bad he will get a nice lethal injection instead of an eye for an eye sentence.

It probably took them that long to calm each other down.

I’m sure I will get some bad comments for this, but as much as I think he deserves the death penalty and more, I think it would still be tough to be on a jury and actually do it. I applaud them, I thank them. It’s not something that should be taken lightly, and I’m glad we have people who can go out there, sit on juries like this and come up with a tough and correct decision. Now, I pray for the family of the murder victims to have some sort of peace.

They have to show they deliberated conscientiously or there might be an overturn of their decision.

Seems a bit long, but they were thorough. He was found guilty of death several times over, on multiple counts. You want to minimize the chances for appeal on procedural grounds.

I’m sure they weren’t crying for Hayes. If you had to sit on a jury for 3 weeks and hear about these gruesome crimes in detail, I suspect you might be shedding a tear or two at the conclusion also.

Read this: Juror speaks out as Conn. family's killer gets death penalty

"I'm 77, and I haven't cried in a long, long time. But seeing this man, what he went through -- just close your eyes and imagine you're a dad and you come home and your wife and daughters are gone. How would you respond?" Gram told The Post from his home last night.

"It is just so horrific. It doesn't fit any caliber or ruler. There is no dimension you can put to it.

"This is the condition where the death penalty was meant to be applied.
