It would be the world’s slowest rocket for sure. The plume in the video doesn’t move like a real one either. It’s clearly a reflective jet.

These things get up high enough so that the plume changes color/shape entirely after just a minute or so, not hover around like a contrail as this ‘mystery’ ones.

It’s just an amazing optical illusion and the timing was perfect to get that angle to look how it does.

Watching the tape it is clear that there is only one exhaust trail. It might have been a single engine fighter with the afterburner on, but where did it take off from, 35 miles out to sea?

I agree. The appearance of flame is probably the sun reflecting off the underside of the wings and body. Amazingly similar but the speed is what leads me to believe it is an aircraft or like you say, the slowest rocket/missile in the world.

As was the case with TWA 800, regardless of what it is the explanation is basically not fit for public consumption. The really scary part is that one plausible explanation has this being a botched attack on the U.S. mainland. If that’s what it was this isn’t the only time it will happen. Someone intended for this thing to be seen and I suspect that whoever was supposed to see it know what they saw and the significance of it.

The Space Shuttle reaches earth orbit and a speed of 17,500 MPH in just 7 Minutes.

You see, I've been on the base for a launch, and I guess you haven't. (I've also seen a couple of others go up from off base.) The initial ascent of the Shuttle appears to be quite slow.

It was a meteor ~ an Earth grazer which is why it's entry into the sky from far away looked like it was coming up to the plane.

There's a meteor shower every year starting at about that time ~ and there are some "clinkers" in the mix. Just a matter of time until one hits a plane.

This missle was a message to not just one someone but to many someones. Lets hope that everyone of the intended got the message.

Any clue as to how far away the person recording the video could have been? I read the distance to be 35 miles off the coast. So lets say the recording device was 35 miles away. Is there any commercial aircraft that can travel that fast leaving a contrail in seconds?

Any guess as to the distance that missile covered in the amount of video evidence we have?

Did you ever watch a shuttle go up during twilight?

The exhaust plume changes color as the shuttle ascends through the atmosphere.

The contrail in question here doesn't.

Ergo, the missile launch theory isn't supported by the evidence, once it's considered.

Wouldn’t there be other planes in the sky trailing contrails?

About 30 seconds into the video there is an aircraft off to the right with no contrail behind it.
