ABC News White House Correspondent Jake Tapper attacked former President George W. Bush over his comments about being called a racist by rapper Kanye West over Hurricane Katrina.
Writing on Twitter this afternoon while accompanying Barack Obama on his Asian trip, Tapper wrote a series of comments ripping Bush:
President Bush says @KanyWest's comments were "one of the most disgusting moments of my presidency." Really?

imagine if in 5 years President Obama said one of the most disgusting moments of his presidency was when Glenn Beck called him racist

the dead body i saw melting on the roof of a car about a week after Katrina was pretty disgusting. more than the rants of a pampered rapper.

Mary Katherine Ham and former Bush Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto responded to Tapper:
.@TonyFratto I'm with Fratto. @jaketapper, Imma let you finish, but that was one of the most uncharitable readings of all time!

Tapper responded:
@mkhammer I dont grade on a curve

Ham replied:
@jaketapper Fine, but even read charitably, the body comment did indeed imply Bush wasn't disgusted by loss of life. Seemed gratuitous.

Tapper rejoined:
@mkhammer well it's what comes to mind when I think of "disgusting" and "Katrina"

Tapper is a twit, plain and simple.
He and his ilk are exactly what is wrong with the SRM.
Who cares what Tapper says? Or this Kanye? He is not man enough to “attack” W. He’d have his a$$ handed to him.
I think most people with a brain realize that the Katrina response fiasco would have occurred under Obama or Clinton as well. The government was wholly unprepared to deal with such an enormous crisis and wasted precious time with mundane tasks while private companies like Wal-Mart led the way in providing relief to the storm victims. The Katrina situation was more an indictment of government in general than it was of any particular administration. If the United States government can’t provide emergency relief to its citizens in a situation like Katrina, it can’t really do much of anything and should be limited to the constitutional duties listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.
I cant even comprehend twitter convos
Well stated my friend....but of course ignorant folks will never understand and should be immediately put to sleep...well almost.....
Big difference jake.....
.....Obama is a racist, read his own words in his books.
.....Bush is not a racist by any definition.
Oh yes, and Bush only said it was "one of the most disgusting things", not "the most disgusting thing". There is a big difference. I would think a real journalist could tell the difference. What does that say about you Jake?
Bush has been elevated into Sainthood.....
and zero and his minions have be identified as “Thugs”.....and then the music played on........
I’m finding it hard to remember who Jake Tapper is. But then again I don’t waste my time with the dinosaur media, and evidently fewer and fewer people do.
More evidence why.
Twitter is the biggest waste of binary code and bandwidth ever devised by man. Twits really need to look into a better use of their time!
This from a objective journalist.
And Obamas response to Oil gusher was??????
AMEN!!!!
I’ll give Tapper a slide on this, only this. He’s more hated in the WA Press Corps for his endless jabs at Gibbs and Odumbo and he usually doesnt tow the MSM line.
Tapper is auditioning for Amanpour’s job.
Being called a racist by Kanye West is like being called a “Jew lover” by Hitler.
