What stuns me is the way all the Commies cheer that he is out helping the po folks in India and Indonesia even as he is dragging around 330 Capitalist CEOS.

Yeah, John Deere is building tractors there with Indian labor, And selling to the local market.
But Mahindra is building them there with Indian labor and selling them to the US

He aint helping the common man here.

He is selling us out and making the CEOs rich.

All same thing GI ~ there's a common vocabulary throughout SE Asia for the "ingredients".

Did you ever notice the LABELS on the bottles and jars are in Thai, Chinese (kitchen and formal), English, French, Vietnamese, and Bhassa?

Thank Goodness!

Just bet you can walk around the birthday party for an hour or so and by the end you will be understanding everything the majority group is speaking no matter what language it it is.

It's not exactly like "echoing".

What's happened is you've simply retained the ability young children have of learning languages.

Did you know there "others" who can detect what you are doing?

The last big bunch of "cannibals" were on islands that are now part of Malaysia, a very similar country with many fewer people and a very large Chinese (Fujian) minority.

Java itself, the main Indonesian island, hasn't had "cannibals" running about for well over a thousand years!

was that not jfk?

I was wondering if anyone would catch the reference. :-(

There's actually some dispute whether JFK actually said that. See the explanation here:

Sriracha forever~we always have a bottle or two around ~ boosts the instant curry dishes stacked in the closet next to the instant rice and instant noodles.

We did have some sambal manis in little jars (packed by a Dutch Company) but learned how to make that stuff from fresh peppers.

Green Onions ~ you must have green onions or it doesn't turn out right.

We use wheat free tamari (and not all tamari is wheat free so be careful).

When I go to a sushi joint without wheat free tamari I order Sriracha and mix it with the wasabi. You haven't had fresh sashimi until you've slathered it with that mix!

Went to a place once that had mixed the wasabi with the Sriracha in the plastic squeeze bottle ~ "they knew"!!!!!

The problem here is “jelly”, which, unless you are talking about red bean paste (adzooki or anku) (or variations on a theme, including bandelon, you’d probably be better off thinking of Penang style Shrimp Paste: It is known also in many other languages as:

Terasi

Ngapi

Kapi

(กะปิ

belacan

mắm ruốc

mắm tép

mắm bagoong alamang

bagoong aramang

haam ha/ha jeung

hom ha/hae ko

D’Oro Yaki from Japan might well serve as a sort of “doughnut” but I can’t think of any SE Asian product that would meet the requirements ~ “wheat” being an imported product.

So, a shrimp paste stuffed d’oro yaki might be a visual substitute for a crurler or berliner, but not quite the same thing.
