Corporate Socialists have overrun this nation.

They indoctrinate employees on homosexuality and green gaia worship in the name of compliance training and then sell out the citizenry.

Gates cannot be that stupid.

We have so addressed the supposed problems of capitalism that we are now closer to a socialist society than a capitalist society.

Socialism has many more problems than capitalism does, and we are living them right now.

“In general, the world under funds research because the person who takes the risk of doing the research doesn’t capture the full benefit of having done it and so you know, capitalism does amazing things but it has one systemic problem in terms of research that it won’t do enough,” Gates said at the mHealth summit in Washington on Tuesday.

The "systemic problem" is that there is too much government interference which CAUSES the lack of benefit accruing to the risk-takers. Government is the cause of the systemic problems, not the solution.

Bill, STFU. If you are so concerned about the poor, how about donate 90% of your wealth to charity? What more can we do for the “poor”? We already give them free food and med care. How about free cars, Tvs, houses. Liberal elitist moron.

Technology thieving folks like Gates should know why it isn't smart to invest in research and development.

Embrace and extend.

The only “research” MS did was how to squash your competition and steal “their” research.....

Gee Bill do you think that you would have developed Microsoft operating systems if you had been some working in some government funded research facility? Ditto for any other of the technological innovations of the last 50 years...contrary to what Joe Biden might think.

>> After he’s made his billions, he’s come to this conclusion...

Hey, he HAS his. Why should he care if the policies he advocates make it harder for you to get yours?

After all, he’s sooooo much smarter than us. The system that worked for him is flawed, and only he is smart enough to recognize that fact and fix it.

Why should the government address it? If there is still research to be done, and if there are still poor people in need, I guess Gates isn’t doing enough. Why doesn’t he take care of these things?

Gee Bill, why don’t you move into a nice 2,400 square foot house and give the rest of your money away (you can keep a million or two to get by) and then I’ll listen to you. Until then, S-T-F-U.

Bill Gates is rich, smart, and BORED OUT OF HIS MIND. Please, somebody, find something that will occupy his brain and warm his heart so he’ll leave the rest of us the hell alone.

The free market works very well. The problem is that we don't have a free market. We haven't since at least 1913.

We have a mixed economy. And it doesn't work well.
What the Soviet Union had (and Cuba, etc.) is a socialist economy. That doesn't work well either.

Well, if socialism doesn't work, and if a mixed economy doesn't work -- why would more government intervention be the suggested fix? Why not less government? Why not a return to the free market? That's the thing that works.

Seems to have worked for him pretty well. I guess he doesn’t recall Clinton’s lawsuit against his company nor Bush’s letting it drop. Selective memory.

The Eternal Fallacy of Socialism is that the collective is inherently more humanitarian than the individuals who comprise it.

Government has no soul, no conscience, no sense of continuity or purpose. If the acts of individuals are heartless, contemplate the depravity of which such a collective is capable.

Yet liberals constantly demand we leave compassion and charity to the Government. There is no worse executor of those virtues.
