Salazar: Altered drilling report not intentional
Updated: Nov 10, 2010 4:08 PM EST
WASHINGTON, DC (RNN) - The Obama administration said Wednesday that its decision to implement a moratorium on offshore drilling was influenced by factors separate and apart from a report that some say was altered by the White House, and that the report in question was not an intentional attempt to mislead the public.
Nine Republican members of Congress asked the Inspector General's Office to investigate the "30-Day Safety Report to the President," which was used to justify the Obama administration's six-month drilling moratorium. The congressmen complained that the summary to the report implied that a scientific panel had supported the moratorium, which it had not.

According to the investigative report issued by the Inspector General and made public Monday, the White House's edit of the original executive summary draft "led to the implication that the moratorium recommendation had been peer-reviewed by experts."

LOL. These guys need to try standup at the local comedy club. I'll bet they are much funnier than most who perform there.
Rosemary Woods, are you still working in the WH?
Doesn’t this qualify as “lying to Congress,” a jailable offense? Salazar wanted to put his foot on the throat of BP, so I’d start with him and work my way up from there.
The typewriter monkeys didn’t get their quota of bananas.
So they will now lift the ban?
“We’re not corrupt-we’re incompetent.” That kind of logic is hard to argue with.
In the mean time, the drilling rigs went to a South American company involved with Soros and we face higher gas prices this winter.
LIFT THE BAN, Obozo!
I’m no statistician, but it seems to me that their so-called “mistakes” favour their political goals beyond what the chance and randomness of mere error would predict. I’m not taking a stand here. I’m just making an observation.
Another damned lie from a damned liar.
His brother lost his re-election bid in CO and nothing would make me happier than to see him kicked out of the administration.
Wishful thinking.

Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obamas pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist groups Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for global governance and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.
By Thursday, Mrs. Browners name and biography had been removed from Socialist Internationals Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the groups congress in Greece was still available.

Team Obama is smarter than that, of course. To quote Obamas environmental czar Carol Browner, who pressured auto industry execs last year to cooperate on a fuel standards increase, they know to put nothing in writing, ever.
No, of course not — and the bear $hits on a silver-plated flush toilet.
Rubbish. How can alterations to a report be “unintentional”? Bad keyboarding? Somebody intended to change it.
Re: “not intentional”
QE-BS! I mean, really, this is quantitative B.S.
Everything Zero’s Czars do is fully intentional! It’s the only promise Zero has kept ...
