Unfair blame: Truth in flames in Hollywood's Plame 'Game' (Valerie Plame Wilson)
The Washington Times ^ | 11/09/2010 | Staff

When Hollywood decides a former White House aide is fair game for attack, facts don't come into play. History, however, cannot be so cavalier about the truth. The new movie "Fair Game" - based on the outing of CIA employee Valerie Plame Wilson during political battles concerning the war in Iraq - is anything but fair or honest. In depicting former vice-presidential chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby as a sinister point man in a broad effort to destroy Mrs. Wilson's career while concocting a fraudulent case for the war, the movie perpetuates myths that improperly damage U.S. credibility.

The record needs to be set straight, not merely for the sake of Mr. Libby but in order to correct a false narrative that feeds an ill-informed anti-Americanism around the globe.

The only people who will view this dreadful film will be Val’s family.

I sure hope they like it.

She told her then boyfriend she was a secret agent on something like the third date.

Plame jeopardized agents in the field. She should have committed seppuku.

Yup. The BS detector was fully deployed when I saw Spicoli's involvement.

If I wanted to watch a BAD movie called Fair Game I'll at least watch the one with Cindy Crawford in it!

Patrick Fitzgerald should have faced charges of prosecutorial misconduct. He knew within a mere few days of beginning his investigation that the so-called “leak” came from Richard Armitage. Yet he drug out his witch hunt for month after month anyway, ~knowing~ the whole time it would be fruitless. Failing to find any actual crime he manufactured a perjury trap and managed to trip up Libby.

What nonsense.

Add to that: I said “so-called” leak because it seems like Plame’s employment was one of the bigger open secrets in DC. Her own worthless husband used to introduce her at cocktail parties as “My wife the spy”. Piffle.

What nonsense.

Fully knowing that there was no violation PF continued the investigation until he had a ‘proceedural crime’.
The jury was not fully informed because afterwards they clamoured for Cheney to testify about the ‘outting’ which never happened.

IIRC, Scooter is appealing his conviction, and I wonder if Fitzgerald’s misconduct will figure prominently in it. Considering that Bill Clinton never served a day in jail for REAL perjury, it mocks justice that Libby was even prosecuted.

And yeah, DemoRATS, we REMEMBER.

This would be the last movies on earth that I would go see, after all the damage the leftists did to the Bush admin over false “outting” of the flame.

While we know the movie is crap, it is unwise to ignore the impact.
Movies like this are what is played on cable at night. Slowly it seeps into the public consciousness and is accepted as fact.

Think you will ever see “The Path to 9/11” ever again?

Cut and paste from Wiki:

“To date, ABC's $40 million miniseries, which drew a combined audience of 25 million, has not been released on DVD. Writer and producer Cyrus Nowrasteh has said that a stalled release is not due to lack of interest but rather strong political pressure. He told the Los Angeles Times that “[P]owerful forces are out to protect Bill Clinton's presidential legacy and shield Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) from any potential collateral damage in her bid for the White House”. Furthermore, Nowrasteh goes on to explain that he was told by a top executive at ABC Studios that “if Hillary weren't running for president, this wouldn't be a problem.” According to the LA Times, an ABC spokeswoman reached September 4, 2007 would say only that the company “has no release date at this time,” and she declined to comment further.”

One side is fighting the culture war, the other side doesn't even know the war exists.

...I never liked her...she primped too much before going on camera...she acted like she wanted celebrity status out of the tempest in a teapot.

Yes he should. His "investigation" was a sham. As you say, Armitage called him and told him on day one.

And, furthermore, CIA confirmed her employment to Novak over the phone. If you're undercover, they don't out you over the phone to someone calling in just asking.

I would like to see a movie about the Plame/Wilson episode, if it includes the fact that it was Armitage who did it, and admitted it, and Fitz who ran a phony investigation for the next year and a half just to railroad a guy who had nothing to do with it. That would make a great movie.

I wonder if the movie will also cover that every time Plame has took this to court, it lost.

Nine years after 9/11, and Hollywood still hasn’t heard of it.

Instead, we get a Style page drama straight from the pages of the Washington Post, and nobody cares.

My thoughts exactly. We cannot let the truth be rewritten by Hollywood.
