13-year-old Cody Alicea rides with an American flag on the back of his bike. He says he does this to be patriotic and to honor veterans, like his own grandfather, Robert. He's had the flag on his bike for two months but Monday, was asked told to take it down. A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property. "In this country we're supposed to be free," said Cody. "And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to. And they're telling me I can't." Cody's grandfather says the school was concerned about racial tensions or uprisings because of the flag. He feels if there was really a problem it should have been brought up two months ago, not during Veterans week. "No action should be taken. We don't want any repercussion," said Roger. "We just want Cody to be proud of what he's doing."
Go to a socialist school, you get socialist results.

I am livid. As a retired combat vet, this is exactly what we fight for - this kid’s 1st amendment right. The Flag causes racial tension??? Are you freakin kidding me?? Actually, when the students complained would have been the opportune time to explain the freedom of speech and expression issue with these students. It would have also been a great time to explain to them what the flag stood for. And if they didn’t like it, the school official should have suggested they go ahead and take it to court. They have have done so, but it would have been better to see the court demand the kid take it off his bike than have the school do it.
A disgrace, yes but it’s California so this comes as no surprise.
Oooo. There is a school board meeting TODAY. Bet that will be fun.

Once again, in California catering to aliens takes precedence over true Americans.
This mindset is one of the many reasons we left California earlier this year. For some reason, CA DMV sent us a Renewal Notice for one of our cars (now registered in TN). The cost on the Notice is $313.00 We’ll pay $17.00 in TN. We NEVER hear Spanish. Our 2700-sq.-ft. house there was on a postage-stamp sized lot, and sold for $650K. Screeching tires at the nearby intersection kept us awake. We bought a private 5,000 sq. ft. house here on 2.5 acres overlooking a river for under $400K. No personal income tax. Fox News plays on the lobby TV at the doctor’s office. At potlucks, we never see health food. Property taxes are lower. Haven’t seen a middle finger extended while driving. Prayer, God, and patriotism are openly discussed and embraced.
California will continue to lose decent people, preferring to retain non-earning, dumbed-down, welfare-grabbing losers. When will they figure it out?
