WASHINGTON -- Indiana Rep. Mike Pence, a potential GOP contender for the White House in 2012, says he'll make a decision after Jan. 1 about whether to enter the race.
Pence, who's stepping down as the No. 3 House Republican leader, says he's "humbled" by encouragement that he consider running.
He tells ABC's "This Week" that he'll seek guidance from God as he decides his political future.

He and Daniels are friends, I would support either one for a run at it.

That’s a better idea for him.

Pence needs to stay out! Congressmen don't get elected President. And only 2 Senators in last 60 years. Pence will just split the conservative vote and give us Romney.
To: RED SOUTH
Which other conservatives are running?

Both decent and competent guys. Hoosiers should be proud.
I don’t think either is cut out to become president, but who’s to say a run isn’t the right thing for them to do?
To: RED SOUTH
Or the huckster. It will be a free for all when it starts.
At this point it looks like Barbour and Palin will split the conservative votes. If the huckster gets in with his cult Romney could be the winner. Ruins my day just thinking about it.

Pence will always do whatever he thinks is in his own best interest. He’s a lot like Romney.

I can think of no similarities between the two. Palin and Mitt, yeah, but not Pence.

NO CONGRESSMEN OR SENATORS FOR PRESIDENT!
To: pissant
You and others were calling Pence a RINO back in 2006 when he proposed the Pence-Hutchinson immigration bill.
Now all of a sudden he's the 2nd coming.
To: pissant
I like Pence, but he has virtually no chance of becoming president in 2012. The last man to go straight from the House to the Oval Office (as a sitting Representative) was Garfield. Williams Jennings Bryant was the last to actually secure a major party nomination as a sitting Representative. But he lost, all three times he tried.
Pence should run for Governor. His stock would go way up with some executive experience.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
He was an idiot for proposing that “compromise”. But unless DeMint or Hunter runs, he’ll still have the best record on immigration. Beats Palin’s amnesty, anyway.

IF exec experience is what you want, then say hello to Huck or Mitt. I’d vote for my cat first.
