JUNEAU -- Republican U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski says she doesn't think Sarah Palin has the leadership qualities to be president, nor the "intellectual curiosity" needed to make good policy.

Murkowski also told Katie Couric of the "CBS Evening News" that she doesn't think Palin enjoyed governing.

Interesting statement from a member of a branch of government that typically is regarded as lacking just those qualities with regard Presidential candidacy. The American people in their collective wisdom, generally don’t elect senators to the highest executive branch the country offers. That distinction would belong to Governors, a position that Sarah Palin has filled, while Murkowski hasn’t, so as Bette Midler said to George Costanza on Seinfeld, get some talent, then you can shoot your mouth off...

newspaper readership is low every where.....you can't expect to get balanced opinions especially since the ADN is so biased....

we do know that many people voted for Miller....we do know that there was shenanigans in the villages and that federal contratrators were preaching to the union thugs ......

The other implication is that Lisa feels confident that she has the votes.

Murkowski lacks leadership to be Senator, but she’s getting elected anyway.

Sarah Palin is obviously the strongest and most capable leader we’ve seen since Ronald Reagan.

Didn’t see it but if Scatty Cowlick was sweet on the Murk then that is proof positive that the Murk is a Lib/socialist.

Don’t worry about the ADN posts. They pretty much filter any conservatives from posting there. If you look at most articles it will say something like “30 comments” but usually only half or so are visible. If you’re a conservative they let fill out a comment but it’s never visible to anyone. It’s strictly the Envirowacko-CaliSeattle crowd. None of them are Real Alaskans.

I suspect it’s the usual silent majority.

Most of the media coverage of Palin has been negative. She was wildly popular in her state with some of (if not) the highest approval ratings in the country for a sitting Governor. Yet, the MSM and Alaskan subsidiaries of the MSM all of a sudden turned up all kinds of people with an axe to grind against her when McCain selected her.

We even heard from the Wasilla librarian (think this is right) for God’s sake! The woman had an axe to grind over some budget cut that Mayor Palin made and all of sudden she is all over the prime time news griping about Palin. This from a media that never interviewed a single tenant of the housing development that Obama “organized for” and his crook buddy/slum lord Tony Rezko managed and operated!!!!!

Murky brought home the bacon just like daddy did and that counts for alot in a state that is so incredibly dependent on Uncle Sam. I can’t speak for Alaskans but I suspect many of them are tired of the circus up there.

Just as those who only watch the alphabet networks for their news get a skewed view of the world, it is possible that we’re getting a skewed view of Palin and Murkowski. Now if Murki is a RINO, then she has to go. But what really is going on up there in Alaska?

************************

Didn’t Sarah have an 80% approval BEFORE she got nominated for VP?

If so, then it might be a 24/7/365 smear campaign that’s driven Sarah’s popularity into the ground.

And what kind of leadership does Murkowski present. She is a sleazy elitist.

This is not surprising. Alaska politics is often personal - I know, since I was a political reporter for the media up here for many years. You need to remember that Sarah completely blew Lisa’s daddy out of the water in a gubernatorial election not long ago, and Lisa hasn’t forgotten that. Neither has Sarah, which accounts for the strong Joe Miller endorsement.

Sarah has always worked outside the party establishment. She’s still doing it. Let Lisa yip yip yip all she wants. One day she may have to call her rival “Madame President.”

Let's look at the quality of recent Democrat candidates. Obama? LOL. Kerry? LOL. Gore? LOL. Billy Jeff? Was he presidential? Carter? LOL.

When was the last time the Democrats fielded a presidential president? I suppose you could argue LBJ or JFK, but only because the mediots did a great job of hiding their foibles.

So, maybe Truman? Even he laughed at the idea that there were Communists buried deep within his administration, even though Venona proved otherwise. Please, when was the last truly presidential democrat president?

Sarah Palin was the most popular Governor in America, in 2007 The Weekly Standard wrote that Governor Palin was probably the most popular official in America, her approval ratings reached as high as 93%.

With the rinos like McConnell she has nothing to fear. We need to get DeMint more people so that we can start to marginalize her and her ilk.

The only way to get rid of them is to starve them of any resources through the budgeting process. The incoming, and current conservatives, in the House have to start coordinating with Senate conservatives to run these backstabber’s out. Let them set up their own third party.
