A 3.5 earthquake just hit western Washington at 7:51 am
According to UW seismometers, it was over a minute in length. Nothing further, breaking
TOPICS: Miscellaneous; News/Current Events; US: Washington
KEYWORDS:
It felt like a short jolt, rocking the mobile. Usually when Ft. Lewis is doing artillery practice, the mobile will jolt slightly on the really big ones. This was much stronger and felt like something big had hit the ground nearby, but there was no crash or sound, just a couple of short jolts.
It just came up in the interactive UW seismo page and the webicorders around Mt. Rainier showed it.
Apparently centered SE of Olympia mid way between Oly and Longview. Depth 9.6 km

Nothing to see here folks... move along. Just part of that “earthquakes in diverse places” thingy.

Not as surprise it was close to Longview. The place is inhabited by nothing but unrepentant sinners. They seem to enjoy it. Hi Tom.

Felt nothing out here, but then again I’m 15 miles NNE of Ocean Shores.

Too far away to shake downtown.
Darn it.

Actually wasn’t that close to Longview. More centered at and right under Mossyrock. Hope the Mayfield Dam wasn’t shaken too badly.
It’s been a while since I was in Longview, so I wouldn’t know about he unrepentant sinners there. I have enough problem trying to keep a handle on myself, now [grin].
