You've never heard of me, but there's a good chance that you've read some of my work. I'm a hired gun, a doctor of everything, an academic mercenary. My customers are your students. I promise you that. Somebody in your classroom uses a service that you can't detect, that you can't defend against, that you may not even know exists.
I work at an online company that generates tens of thousands of dollars a month by creating original essays based on specific instructions provided by cheating students. I've worked there full time since 2004. On any day of the academic year, I am working on upward of 20 assignments.
In the midst of this great recession, business is booming. At busy times, during midterms and finals, my company's staff of roughly 50 writers is not large enough to satisfy the demands of students who will pay for our work and claim it as their own.

This type of thing has been going on for years and years. It seems it is more refined today. When I was in High School, I was part of a very large hot rod club. It was a rule in the club that all term papers written by members had to have a copy of it placed in a club file. This went on since the founding of the club. If we had to write a term paper, and didn’t want to do it ourselves, we just went to the file, found what we wanted and re-wrote it. Even after members graduated from the school and went to college, they would put their reports in the file. It was quite extensive.
I did a term paper on the Civil War my last year in High School. The teacher told me it looked very familiar. I just told him that it should. It was the Civil War and I’m sure he studied it many times. He just looked at me and smiled.
How does one seek employment at one of these term paper mills?
Her exams were also comprised of long essay questions, too. Part of her motivation was to improve the writing skills of her students, but I believe she also insisted on this format so she could use the essay answers from the exam to cross-check against the term papers to see if there was any deviation in the students' writing styles.
By the middle of my second semester with her, she told me that I didn't even need to put my name on any of the materials I submitted for class -- because she knew my writing style so well.
Lots of people make money from the moral shortcomings of their fellow man. This makes an interesting argument for whether humanity in general views morality as situational as opposed to a belief in God and the existance of a higher morality.

The easiest way to counter this is for class instructors to weigh the grades of in-class exams more than writing assignments.
I’m not proud to say that I used to do this to pay the bills while I went to school. I’d write a 10 page paper for $200. I think plenty of people who find writing easy did this for a quick buck.

Yes, but this isn’t just about undergrad assignment. These are significant, long-term thesis and research papers being cranked out, some in the 100-150 page range. He says many of his clients com from nursing schools.

Understandable, but no one should be able to fake his way to a degree. The fact that schools either gloss over this, or are unable to figure out that students do this, is more a reflection on the poor quality of these academic programs than the students who go through them.
Perhaps the schools involved are more interested in tuition money then academic integrity.
Is he going to admit that he wrote all of Obama’s college papers? Because Obama sure didn’t.
I, for one, would love to SEE some of his college papers.
I had a similar professor for Sr Economics.
In a Monetary Policy course, we had 3 tests with 6 essay questions it. Those tests were the only grades. We had to combine monetary theory with real world examples while knowing the current status of CPI, Prime Rate, Unemployment and others. There was no way to fake this course.
Hardest class Ive ever had, but one of the only classes where I remember the material.
I don’t really understand how a company can legally exist, which sole purpose is to enable students to cheat. I’d like to see outfits like this shut down—as it is more or less a criminal enterprise.

No, she seemed to be legitimately impressed. She had such a reputation as a tough instructor that she was really impressed with anyone who came back for a second and THIRD class with her!
