Israel knows how to do this right, but we cannot possibly implement their security approach at airports so long as political correctness and legalistic b.s. prevail.

One cannot give special scrutiny to “profiles” of likely terrorists under the current politically correct regime — we have to pretend that EVERYONE might be a terrorist and then inconvenience everyone, without even a hint of common sense.

Another problem is that the security people at the Tel Aviv airport all seem to be educated. We would need an entirely new class of people to implement Israeli security, and these are not the people who "need" jobs.
