TSA pats down a screaming toddler

TSA pats down a screaming toddler

You might think a 3-year-old would whiz through security. A child is non-threatening, wears slip-on shoes, and carries little luggage.

Not the case for Mandy Simon who was passing through security with her dad at the airport in Chattanooga, Tenn.

This is nothing new.

It’s silly to blame this on Obama.

Happened under Bush, (gasp!) too.

Saw a kid being woken up from his stroller and made to stand up as his stroller was checked.

Just don’t fly.

Can’t believe all the crybabies out there, like that schmuck, don’t touch my junk. Listen ****hole, all men have the same, if you don’t want your junk touched, go thru the machine.

Otherwise, don’t fly, shutup and stop whining.

The machines were approved for deployment during the Bush Administration.

They just don’t appear overnight magically.

What is there to stop someone from stuffing a babies diaper with chemicals which could create an explosion or slip a knife or pistol into some old ladies carry-on when they porter their bags inside?

I concur. I would suggest that people, if the have the option, not fly. Once the airlines’ income drops because of less traffic, then, maybe then, there will be pressure brought to bear against this silliness.

NONSENSE!

President Bush did not allow muslims to opt out of searches as obama does.

Remain in denial of reality if you wish, but the fact is that obama is assisting Terrorists to breach airport security. obama and his Terrorist Pals are obviously planning a new attack on the US.

I cannot believe how dumb many people are on this screening stuff. Lets assume we stop screening infants, little old ladies and men in walkers.

Who would then be forced to carry explosives on board?

I cannot believe how many people believe there are terrorists at every airport looking for someone to plant a bomb on. The mass hysteria that has resulted in insane tactics by Homeland security has not prevented a single airline bombing or etc. Alert citizens, on the other hand, have.

Israel has proven time and again that the only way to effectively prevent airline terrorism is rigid profiling.

Until the PC wingnuts are removed from government we will remain under seige, deprived of our constitutional rights and unsafe.

Jihadists and their sympathizers fall pretty much into a narrow and fairly easily identifiable stereotype.

The Israeli airline El Al is far more targeted than western airlines, yet they have been flawless in their security screening.

Profile muslims and middle-eastern looking people and hire high quality professionals as security agents. Then the airways can be safe again...and the public won’t have to worry about voyeur and pedophile TSA agents.

Political correctness is destroying America!

If you establish that certain classes of people will be held to a lesser screening requirement you create a weaker link in the chain which could be exploited.

I hear what you're saying but what happens after someone smuggles a bomb in a body cavity>

There have been reports of women having "bomb breast implants.

I mean, how far do we allow this to go for the sake of PC?

I'm with you on the profiling, that seems to be the answer but instead TSA is fondling American Citizens and children instead.

WE need to stand up and defeat this crap and it looks like that is happening.

Have you seen the movie Taking Chance? It shows the journey of Marine Lt. Colonel Michael Strobl as he escorts the remains of Lance Corporal Chance Phelps home after he was killed in Iraq in April 2004.

The scene where Colonel Strobl is confronted by a Hotel Alpha of a TSA screener just makes my blood boil.

That doesn't even make any sense.

Are you suggesting that baby diapers be inspected?

If someone is able to secret a gun or knife into an old ladies carry on then we're looking at the wrong people by your own admission.

NONSENSE YOURSELF.

The optout for Muslim women has not happened.

I was commenting upon the substance of your posting, that a kid was patted down.

To repeat, that’s not new. It’s been going on for years.

Denial of reality, I probably fly a lot more than you do.

Obama’s assisting terrorists? LOL, it was Bush’s Pentagon that invited Awlaki for a tete a tete!

Man, I want that stuff you’re smoking.

I think you'd have to go a long way around here to find a person who believed that everything that President George W Bush was right... An invasive search by federal employees is against the 4th Amendment. There is no secondary option, they have forced themselves into the airports and stationed themselves between customers and the airlines they wish to use.

This isn't a crybaby thing, this is the federal government going so incredibly far as to be astonishing that anyone would subject themselves to it. It is unlawful search, unlawful seizure, and has resulted in ZERO actual preventions of terrorist acts on airlines. No TSA office can stand up and say ‘Oh, yeah, we stopped a terrorist in their tracks!’ They've never discovered a shoe bomb, never discovered undergarment explosives, and won't find any anal bombs when they go to cavity searches in the future once the terrorists finish having a few beers and say ‘hey, I know what’ll screw with them...’

It is a 70 billion dollar direct drain on the federal budget, and millions of wasted hours from the flying public subjecting themselves to an ever increasing litney of indignities and seizures which has done nothing to make flying any safer. People are being subjected to more through searches than people in actual federal custody.

This needs to change to the hands of airlines. You're welcome to fly ‘cavity search airways’, I'll instead choose an airline that has more reasonable profile screening.

You think the screening has no deterrent value? Personally, I would not fly on a plane where only Muslim men have been screened.

Crybabies, my a**. What a good sheep you are, Swarthyguy.

The rest of us don't LIKE getting felt up by the TSA as part of some great Terrorist Prevention Theater which doesn't work. And some of us feel even stronger about the prospect of watching our sixteen-year old daughters or seventy-five year old mothers getting felt up by the Government.

This TSA rebellion is a full throated cry from Americans who not only want less Government, but want NO Government literally sticking its hands in our private parts in a futile effort to show how even-handed it is in spreading the shame and intrusion.

There are less intrusive techniques that work at airports--hey, ask El Al--but those methods involve, in part, profiling young Muslim men.

Profiling! Why, our Gubmint just won't do THAT--that's OUTRAGEOUS!

They will, however, feel up a crying three-year old.

Sad you don't get it.

Absolutely downtownconservative. Profile, profile, profile and if all else fails profile.

No, the communist enemy within our government, media, universities tell us we must all forfeit our 4th Amendment rights rather than profile those who are members of a 7th century hate club for retards and monkey men.

It does not stop at airports. Many Fed, State, County buildings now violate our 4th Amendment rights daily. Soon it will be at the shopping mall, train station, bus station, sporting events, churches, hospitals or just any place where more than 5 people congregate. All in the name of safety.

The only thing this overreaching federal government has done is to guarantee us that only the criminals will be armed with something. We are left defenseless.

Where were you bitching when Bush’s TSA instituted this policy?

This ain’t new. It’s almost 10 years old now.

Please, the same people bitching against these searches would be the same ones crying if some jihadi air attack happened.

Why didn’t you protect us? would be the crying refrain.

GFY.

I'm suggesting that babies be subject to the same screening that my carry-on luggage receives.

If someone is able to secret a gun or knife into an old ladies carry on then we're looking at the wrong people by your own admission.

And by your suggested omission, we are putting that old lady and everyone she fly's with at greater risk by excluding her from screening.

Political correctness is destroying America!

Amen!!

"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first."

"Those who are willing to sacrifice their basic liberties to assure their security deserve neither."

That's all.

I agree. There is nothing to stop terrorists from implanting explosives into muslim women. muslim women are just property to muslim men. They treat them like animals. They would think nothing of implanting a bomb in muslim women.
