The head of the Transportation Security Administration is acknowledging that the new pat-downs are more invasive than what travelers were used to in the past.

TSA administrator John Pistole says he has received the new pat-down, as has his boss, Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Some travelers complain that the new inspections target sensitive body areas. Pistole says he understands those privacy concerns, but says the government must provide the best possible security for air travelers.

Pistole was testifying before a Senate committee about TSA policies and procedures. The hearing was scheduled before the recent outrage about airport security pat-downs.

Isn't the best possible security to pat down everbody, no exceptions, including the moslem women? Or even better, for everyone to do a complete strip search, women, children, moslem women, and to preform a body cavity search? No religious exemption allowed!

One of the real reason for these enhanced pat-downs is for the government to take control of our lives, just as in the heathcare fiasco!

Big government doesn’t care about logic. This is about power, tyranny, and putting us in our place. We have a government of elitist sociopaths.

Can you imagine the left’s heads exploding if this happened under George Bush? They didn’t even want him to wiretap the terrorists!

Exactly what do these new, invasive, unconstitutional searches have to do with “the best possible security for air travelers.”

How ‘bout aggressive profiling? Armed Air Marshalls? Allowing CCW holders to keep their weapons?

Jeez! Get a clue from the Israelis, Big Sis!!

Instead of driving our economy, fuel efficient vehicles, we’ll all be looking at the big vans to transport our families on vacation!!!

RE: Bush.

I’ve been thinking the same thing for a few days now. If this had happened under W’s watch, the left would be up in arms over it. Even the token liberal chick on Hannity’s Great American Panel last night acknowledged that.

Wrong! The government is to provide the best reasonable security for air travelers. The best possible security would be body cavity searches before boarding and protective body armor while on board. The best reasonable security is to identify the problem travelers and screen them from the flights.

the best possible security... would mean full body cavity exams of all passengers and crew.

Barney Frank full supports this, so we could count on some bi-partisan support :P

I call BS. Unless it's done in public it didn't happen.

>>but says the government must provide the best possible security for air travelers. <<

That line could be used to support pulling each and every passenger into a private room and having a TSA agent cram their hand up their lower intestine/vagina and feel around for “stuff”.

IOW, it is BS. Or worse. After all, what will they do after someone is discovered who DOES get C4 onto a plane with that method?

I hope at today’s hearing that someone ask these TSA guys if the moslem women will undergo these enhanced complete body pat-downs, as are the ‘infidels’?

From FoxNews:

The Transportation Security Administration says airline passengers won't get out of body imaging screening or pat-downs based on their religious beliefs.

TSA chief John Pistole told the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday that passengers who refuse to go through a full-body scanner machine and reject a pat-down won't be allowed to board, even if they turned down the in-depth screening for religious reasons.

"That person is not going to get on an airplane," Pistole said in response to a question from Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., on whether the TSA would provide exemptions for passengers whose religious beliefs do not allow them to go through a physically revealing body scan or be touched by screeners.

Civil rights groups contend the more intensive screening violates civil liberties including freedom of religion, the right to privacy and the constitutional protection against unreasonable searches.

The government always responds to the last threat. I predict if we find one of the terrorists coming at us with a bomb in his anal cavity we will soon have to take TSA supervised mandatory enemas before boarding planes.

Can’t someone tell these guys about the Israeli system of behavior modeling.
