Say 'I Opt Out' of Airport Scanners on National Opt Out Day, November 24
Airport Business News ^ | 11-15-10 | AirportBusiness.com

Posted on 11/18/2010 8:44:23 AM PST by FS11

"Not only are these porno scanners a gross violation of individual privacy," said boycott co-founder George Donnelly, "they're also a threat to the health of millions of passengers and ineffective as well. The goal of the demonstrations is to urge Americans to exercise their legal right to 'opt out' of the scan."

If you have to fly on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to opt out of the new scanners for your own health and privacy. Say "I opt out!" Be prepared for delays and intimate TSA "patdowns." If you're not flying on November 24, We Won't Fly urges you to tell your friends, family and community members who are flying. Organizers of local meetups can list their events on our nationwide map at http://WeWontFly.com/opt-out-day.

As University of California scientists noted earlier this year, the airport scanners may pose a serious health risk. "Our overriding concern is the extent to which the safety of this scanning device has been adequately demonstrated. This can only be determined by a meeting of an impartial panel of experts that would include medical physicists and radiation biologists at which all of the available relevant data is reviewed," they said in a letter of concern.

but I had never heard of him before here on FR.

This is the first time I've seen your SCREENNAME on FR, or noticed it.

What do you think that means????

you people are acting like children, in my opinion.

You know, I know, and they know. But it's the COOL thing to do, at the moment.

Hurting the U.S. airline industry is just what our enemies want.

AND IT WON'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

The PROBLEM is that the BAD GUYS aren't even being searched. We should be objecting to that, instead of objecting to 'how' they search our children.

One muslim Terrorist in the WH is more than enough to destroy America, but no doubt BO has many others on his staff who share his anti-American beliefs.

I am NOT flying, so let the airlines fight another cost to them — the loss of passengers. Flights are already too costly with all the nickle and dime add-on charges. Its cheaper to drive. Although it takes longer, don’t have to mess with hassles and get to pack a meal or two.

Please refrain from personal attacks in your responses.

Saying that someone is ACTING like a child is not a personal attack.

What kind of homo would object to another man touching his private parts?

I'm sure when the cops pat you down, you object as well.

The problem is not that they conduct this type of search, it's WHO they are searching.

And it ain't the terrorists.

they might touch my privy parts?

Tell you what. Send me your daughters and let me rub on their 'privy parts' for a while. Until you're ready to do that, STFU.

I plan to wear a burqa when I fly. That way, I will be allowed to board my plane uninterrupted.

Yes, common sense has left us. Since when has this turned into acts of sexual harassment or abuse? That is what this is being turned into. If you think there are hundreds of TSA personnel out there who are undercover perverts and/or child molestors then indeed, common sense has left us.

I think it would be funny if passengers wear rubber gloves themselves too.

I think the passengers should mimic the movements of the TSA agent on the agent, too. Give them a mutual pat-down.

Where do you draw the line?

You answered the question, in a way.

Instead of objecting to ANY patdown searches, we should be objecting to RANDOM selection of children, babies, nuns, and men in wheelchairs.

We should be objecting to the MUSLIMS getting a pass on searches.

We should object to Airport Security escorting potential terrorists AROUND checkpoints and searches. (Like they did with the underwear bomber, even though it wasn't in the US, how do you know they don't do the same here?).

OUR POLICE conduct the SAME type of searches. Do you object to that?

Probably not.

But, they don't select cars at RANDOM and conduct searches.

Sorry, dad, when I was about 9, before I had breasts, some fat kid came up behind me and felt my chest. I was violated then, and it pisses me off now.

Did Chuzzlewit say that?

If not, then it seems you are must making up things to justify your position(much like a liberal).

I give you the “WHO” part. That has been my issue for about many years now. This is not a fad for me. This is all PC Bull and has been for awhile now. I have complained that removing our shoes was a sign of submission. Please see my posts where I suggest a short “interview” for ALL passengers. Someone who is about to commit a diabolical act is going to be disengaged from humanity. The Israelis have it right.

As for the screenname, yes, I have not posted much lately. I guess that I can appear to be a real troll with the “hope”. Thought about changing it to del4realhope.

It was hijacked from me by a political campaign. Have actually thought about

This is all security theater. If that guy last Christmas had been successful, they would have never known where the bomb had been planted. Think about it.

The plain truth if ever I've heard it. Good points.
