Where are the Republicans on this committee?

Are you kidding? The copyright cartel has a quite bipartisan approach to the congresscritters it buys. A famous Republican, Orrin Hatch, probably wrote this. He is their MOST owned congresscritter since the departure of Howard Berman.

They would have Justice with the vans and the guys with guns all deployed outside Jims house, and the server location. Then an agent provocateur would be sent to post anything copyrighted on FR.

So, it would be just like RIGHTRAVEN. What USED to be known as ENTRAPMENT. At one time considered ILLEGAL, but now a primary tool of all forms of Law Enforcement.

I sent Mr. Cornyn a little note saying IMO the country would be better off if he went back to spending his time writing campaign letters for Arlen Spectre.

Sickening. We just give up more and more power to the federal government every day.

These democrats/marxists satanically are now putting forth all these country destroying socialist bills like the food control bill, censoring the Internet, Dream act(Amnesty), and much more. Democrats held back until this Lame Duck session to deliberately go against what the people said in the election that they wanted less government not more.

We need less government not more.

Here is the solution to save the United States:

1. Deport all illegals and build a fence.
2. Abolish all government agencies as in the EPA, TSA, FEC, FCC,FDA,IRS ,HUD,HHS, government schools, etc. This can be done by making all laws expire after 3 years. So all laws , laws that mandate agencies, spending , and make it easy for unions will have to be created again every 3 years. So only the laws the people really want are kept.
3. Deal with China and other countries manipulating their currency.
4. Repeal every law as in 2 above, Repeal every law, Amendment etc. to 1890. Then America was growing faster than all other countries, had a limited government , and manufactured more than all other countries put together and we did it all without the technology we have now and with only 1/4 the population.

It's apparent the Mandarin Class in unclear about "when you have nothing, you have nothing to lose."

This is probably the only thing in the world that could unite the left and right in common cause.

I can’t find the committee votes, but the sponsor and cosponsors are:

Patrick Leahy [D-VT]
Lamar Alexander [R-TN]
Evan Bayh [D-IN]
Benjamin Cardin [D-MD]
Thomas Coburn [R-OK]
Richard Durbin [D-IL]
Dianne Feinstein [D-CA]
Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY]
Lindsey Graham [R-SC]
Charles Grassley [R-IA]
Orrin Hatch [R-UT]
Amy Klobuchar [D-MN]
Herbert Kohl [D-WI]
Robert Menéndez [D-NJ]
Charles Schumer [D-NY]
Arlen Specter [D-PA]
George Voinovich [R-OH]
Sheldon Whitehouse [D-RI]

And the committee is:

Patrick Leahy [D-VT]
Jefferson Sessions [R-AL]
Benjamin Cardin [D-MD]
Thomas Coburn [R-OK]
John Cornyn [R-TX]
Richard Durbin [D-IL]
Russell Feingold [D-WI]
Dianne Feinstein [D-CA]
Al Franken [D-MN]
Lindsey Graham [R-SC]
Charles Grassley [R-IA]
Orrin Hatch [R-UT]
Amy Klobuchar [D-MN]
Herbert Kohl [D-WI]
Jon Kyl [R-AZ]
Charles Schumer [D-NY]
Arlen Specter [D-PA]
Sheldon Whitehouse [D-RI]

So I would guess the following committee members voted for it:

Patrick Leahy [D-VT]
Benjamin Cardin [D-MD]
Thomas Coburn [R-OK]
Dianne Feinstein [D-CA]
Lindsey Graham [R-SC]
Orrin Hatch [R-UT]
Amy Klobuchar [D-MN]
Herbert Kohl [D-WI]
Charles Schumer [D-NY]
Arlen Specter [D-PA]
Sheldon Whitehouse [D-RI]

“Let’s give the government more power

Since when do you tax payers have a say?

They've been begging, protesting, voting, and screaming for relief from this epic illegal invasion of our country for about 8 years now....

How'd that work out?

I am too lazy to go back and confirm if my memory is correct. Olympia Snowe voted ObamaNoCare out of the Finance Committee so it could be “debated.” Look what happened.

I am surprised (prolly shouldn't be) it was unanimously voted out of committee. I would think at least 1 of the GOP members would remember we are not supposed to prove our innocence. This is a a bill on which to demonstrate bipartisan spirit .

This is not your daddy's USA.

Just understand we need to rely not on legal remedies but physical ones.

Most copyright infringement is not a criminal matter, but is merely a civil violation of private property rights.

The copyright cartel has been making it a criminal matter for years. Why expend resources to defend a copyright when you can get the taxpayers to do it for you?

Oh my, daily this country makes life more and more incrementally intollerable. They can now make sh*t up and write the warrants and dictate 1st amendment sppech far beyond “illegal criminal sites.” heh, will the porn industry be hit? NAMBLA, or will it go against “homophobe” churches, ( hate speach), and sites alleging a different view? Obama is mad as hell and he’s fighting “we the enemy.” Granted some sites ARE outright criminal but this is a nasty bit of work.

Let’s say the FBI can arbitrarily come in and sieze your house without due process. That’s okay because you can sue against the full legal resources of the federal government to get it back.

I don’t have time to read all the comments and this has already been raised, but tell me how the US AG is going to shut down a site coming off a server in Russia, the Bahamas or any other foreign nation.
