Public Acceptance of New TSA Procedures Has Been Exaggerated
Pajamas Media ^ | November 21, 2010 | Dan Miller

Posted on 11/21/2010 5:03:54 AM PST by DanMiller

The mainstream media ask all the wrong questions. A CBS survey concluded that:

Americans overwhelmingly approve of the use of full-body digital x-ray machines — a new technology in use at some airports in the U.S. Most, meanwhile, do not approve of racial or ethnic profiling — a practice not in place.
The following questions apparently were not asked: “Have you or an immediate family member flown on a commercial airliner in the United States since November 1, 2010?” and “Do you or an immediate member of your family intend to fly on a commercial airliner in the United States in the near future? If not, have your plans been changed on account of recent changes in airport security procedures?”

The report of the survey speaks of “two potentially inconvenient and invasive practices” at airports. However, the reported question asks only about the new “‘full body’ digital X-ray machines.” No question was reported about the second and certainly more invasive of the “two” techniques, presumably the “enhanced pat-downs.”

As to “profiling,” the question was whether it would be justified or unjustified for people of “certain racial or ethnic groups to be subject to additional security checks at airport checkpoints.”

If you had any character, you would go through my complete, consistent posting history.

I went through enough to see that you are a leftist who consistently uses what the DUmmies think are conservative talking points. Rush would probably label you a seminar poster.

Then you would apologize for the slander.

Leftists love that term. Why don't you look up the term slander and then get back to me if you are still confused about the fact that I could not possibly have slandered you.

I didn’t expect a forthright reply, so I can say that I’m disappointed.

Your statement makes no sense.

You didn't expect a forthwith reply, yet I responed within thirty minutes. What is it that you are disappointed with?

Wrong again. I don’t work for the TSA, don’t know anyone that does, and only fly about twice a year.

Why can’t you accept - with Occam’s Razor logic - that there is a decently-sized group of very conservative FReepers that want aggressive airline security and, if there is error, it’s on the side of safety? Rather than adopt the longterm DU/ACLU mentality that you have only lately embraced? Or come up with a cockamamie conspiracy idea that I would disavow everything that I “really, wink wink” believe in, just in order to infiltrate to annoy on a rather tangential topic?

Whatever troll, have you had a chance to ask the other DUmmies what they think of me?

ALL of us what aggressive airline security, that has never been a question.

Can you name other members of this "decently-sized group" of FReepers who support groping like you do? Can you name even one?

Rather than adopt the longterm DU/ACLU mentality that you have only lately embraced?

See troll, that's where you're off course.

The left is fine with the groping. What they oppose is PROFILING even though it's proven to work.

For one things, there isn't a decently -sized group of very conservative FReepers who support this. There are just a few RINO trolls who support it.

But to answer your question, because that kind of aggressive *security* doesn't work, isn't going to stop the next terrorist attack, gives the government too much power, violates the fourth amendment, and is NOT a conservative stand.

You can't be as conservative as you claim to be and support that kind of tyrannical, flagrant trashing of the Bill of Rights.

You are not a real conservative if you support this junk with the TSA people. What don't you get about the 4th amendment? If we give away our freedoms, that will just make it easier to take over this whole country and yet, you are for this. Wow.

DUmmies probably consider TSA groping to be a mild form of foreplay.

There are two other relatively new trolls who were patting each other on the back about this with him/her/it....

If you really, really want to find out about someone, just type in their poster name and their history will pop up. I learned that little trick years ago. There were some more sites which had posts with that name, too. I just thought the huffpost was the most interesting one.

That makes it a perfect day now, what with the Ann Marie Buerkle (R) win in NY for the US house seat.

What an upset!!!!

This is the one that I found most revealing:

This is Centrist. Remember me? I was there at the polls when we voted in Obama. I'll cut right to the chase:

~snip~

If you don't trust Obama to move the country in the direction you want (against the will of many who actually live here and will willingly pass terrible laws like the ones that exist in lots of places all over the world) then who do you trust?
