Just to be on the safe side, voters in Oklahoma this month overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment that prevents the Talibanization of the Sooner State. Henceforth, there will be no public stonings in Ponca City, no forced burqa wearing in Bartlesville, no Sharia law in Lawton.

Like many other “faux” conservatives, Michael Gerson writes for the Washington Post. The Miami Herald just runs his columns. Like the others, Gerson immediately starts Palin bashing when his masters give the command.

In order to pre-empt and defeat Shaira law we should a priori:

1. re-establish Puritan Law in Massachusetts

2. re-establish Catholic Canon Law in Maryland

3. re-establish Dutch West Indies Law in NYC, Albany

4. re-establish Wm. Penn`s Quaker Laws in Pennsylvania

5. re-establish the Russian Czar`s Imperial decree in Alaska

6. re-etablish Napoleonic Codes in all of the western USA

7. re-establish Spanish Royal Law in Florida

8. re-establish Iroquois Confederacy Law in Western NY State

since it appears the courts are not going to use Constitutional Law to do it.

Isn't there a “Wall of Separation” between church and state that must be kept high and impregnable? Since the Klansman Hugo Black wrote those words in the 5-4 Everson v. Board of Education decision, the government has been very busy stamping out Christianity whenever it can.

By my take, Oklahoma's amendment merely reinforces the Scotus decision.
