Obama: TSA's Nude Screening a Necessary Inconvenience
New York Magazine ^ | November 21, 2010

Posted on 11/21/2010 6:28:15 PM PST by bd476

"At this point, the Transportation Security Administration, in consultation with our counter-terrorism experts, have indicated to me that the procedures that they've been putting in place are the only ones right now that they consider to be effective against the kind of threat that we saw in the Christmas Day bombing.

I understand people's frustrations ... and have asked TSA for assurances that what we're doing is the only way to assure the American people's safety ... One of the most frustrating aspects of this fight against terrorism is that it has created huge inconveniences.

Every week I meet with my counter-terrorism team and I'm constantly asking them whether what we're doing is absolutely necessary."

- President Obama stands by the TSA's increasingly-controversial security measures

that Boing Boing described as the "You choose: star in a porno shoot or let me squeeze your genitals policy," in which passengers are either scanned and seen nude, or they're groped and made to feel awkward. Obama admitted, however, that since he doesn't fly commercial, he's actually never experienced this inconvenience firsthand.

4th Amendment: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Couldn’t be clearer. The purchase of an airline ticket is NOT probable cause of a crime. Ask me where I’m going, check my name against criminal records, etc., but no one has a right to search my person without probable cause. By definition, that’s an unreasonable search.

G.W. Bush imposed wiretaps on soldiers of Islam in the USA when they communicated with their bases in the Mideast. The libtard whacks went ballistic with their shredding of the constitution rhetoric. Where is their outrage Now that Janet(the Grape)Gropatano has unleashed this travesty on real Americans. Oh the humanity!

I bet if there was just ONE case of a public Koran burning at an airport the Moslems would go nuts.

And if a nationwide event were to happen, even if it was just people wearing T-shirts of a Koran being burnt it would cause a massive wave of resentment against Obama.

But here is the interesting thing, nobody is brave enough to even talk about this!

A nation of wussies and a nation of people trying to heard a nation of wussies trying to get them all fired up.

Amazing.

If we want to stir up a hornets nest I suggest doing something that has been proven to get them all fired up.

I am so completely outraged.

Obama and Napolitano (with the aid of Chertoff and Soros) outdid themselves on this one.

The hypocrites are taking the National Guard off the borders and tightening the noose around the necks of American citizens (relieving them of their civil rights while insisting upon amnesty for intentional lawbreakers and leaving the borders wide WIDE open). How many illegal aliens have been screened the same as American citizens to date? Just asking!

Why don't they take their heavily invested (with taxpayer dollars) nude-screening machines and use them all along border entryways? Chances are they're going to find more contraband and dangerous items there than at any airport or on the average American citizen flying home for Thanksgiving to be with their family.

taking the National Guard off the borders

Good point!!!

BTW, the illegal aliens ARE THE SCREENERS/sarc...not really—someone posted that the background checks for TSA agents is pretty scant :(

The Christmas Day bombing was ELEVEN MONTHS AGO. Why did you wait ELEVEN MONTHS to implement this policy? Or is it simply that you consider this policy to be effective at getting Americans accustomed to government intrusion?

When the foreign occupier employed the phrase 'fundamentally transforming America' two years ago, that's precisely what he meant. Zer0 has no intention of going quietly.
