Mad Men Star Thinks Having Kids is Irresponsibly Hurting Environment
NewsReal ^ | November 21, 2010 | Paul Cooper

If you would like to believe that some people in Hollywood are sane then don’t look to the cast of Mad Men. The popular cable show has at least one guy who basically thinks having children is irresponsible and hurts the environment. He hopes the rest of us will learn to live as responsibly as him.

Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser did an interview this week with MSNBC’s Tamron Hall to talk about how to go green. The progressive network thought the actor was qualified to interview, because he’s insanely green in his personal life. The guy has no car, thinks meat is evil, and in fact, has no toilet. Kartheiser told a UK magazine earlier this year:

“I don’t have a toilet at the moment. My house is just a wooden box. I mean I am planning to get a toilet at some point. But for now I have to go to the neighbours. I threw it all out.”

If not having a place to relieve yourselves isn’t enough, he told MSNBC that it’s truly green to not have children.

Hall: Did you move forward at that point and look for other ways, if you will, to go green and to live what we should all be doing – living more responsibly?

Kartheiser: I’ve been a vegetarian for four years and I have chosen not to have children, which are both green choices in my life.

Well how noble of you Vince. To you, all of us should live more responsibly by not having those little evil environmental killers – ya know, kids. In fact, Kartheiser eased our minds that he isn’t doing anything “miraculous” that the rest of “the masses” couldn’t do.

Someday I hope to be as enlightened as this guy. *eye roll*

I'd just laugh if this sort of misanthropy wasn't so dangerous.

He is not a likeable character on the show as far as I am concerned so the casting was brilliant.

"it’s truly green to not have children."

He could go a long way towards repairing the damage he's done to the environment during his useless life by throwing himself off a bridge.

Listen...this guy is deranged, no question. But we should give him a big pat on the back, because every insane liberal who chooses not to reproduce improves the gene pool just a little bit. Not to mention less pollution of the electorate.

He and 3 other libs can pass on having children, because we had our quota and theirs combined. And since they grew up in this house, they are also comfortable with firearms, hard work and self control.

I’ll bet he doesn’t bathe regularly either. My sister’s moonbat boyfriend told us he was living green also which he said included not bathing everyday.

When they came for a visit, I put out clean towels, LOTS of soap and some deodorant.

He can be funky at his own house, not mine.

My sister is clean for herself. Her choices in men shock me. He pretends to be an intellectual. He’s an idiot.

I’d bet that Vincent Kartheiser’s carbon footprints is greater than ten avg families with kids.

Celebs fly a lot.

And his work entails a huge army of men and equipment to be moved around the globe.

The best of Vincent Kartheiser ran down his fathers leg.

Vince is a worker bee drone. He has no idea of how to participate in the natural cycle of birth, life and death.

Vincent has cosmological knowledge less than a fruit fly, which knows how to reproduce.

I look forward to a world with far fewer Vincent Kartheisers in the gene pool.He has done us all a favor.

DARWIN AWARD!!

Liberals are control freaks.

Now that the government has its hands in every aspect of our lives, people like this guy are going to be telling us how many kids WE can have. For the common good.

Live and let live is NOT their motto.

I love the show. His character is one of the most interesting.

This guy is out of his mind. He gave away ALL his stuff cause he thought it was chafing him or something. His car, he thinks it's nice getting places slower. His bed. His toilet! He allegedly used his neighbor's john for several days before he got a new one.

I am glad he doesn't plan to breed for fear hereditary insanity may be playing a role in this.

And Vincent, if you ever decide you don't want your money there are many worthy charities, like the Anti-Cruelty Society, the Salvation Army, or Impy's bank account. Just putting it out there.

I hope he doesn't go so crazy that he quits or gets fired from the show.

I’d think you would like with your interest in the 60’s.

They handle mention of historical events well.

He does sound nuttier than D’Onofrio, that’s not easy to do. But Alan Grayson made Kookcinich seem sane, there’s always someone crazier.

I don't know the guy, but his premise is correct. We the U.S. along with all other countries need to control the birth rate. The U.S. isn't too bad, but some countries like India, Brazil, African nations need to cut the birth rates, too many people is one of the biggest problems we have to face.
