BERLIN—Germany is bracing for possible terrorist attacks amid growing signs that Islamic extremists are preparing at least one assault somewhere in the country in the coming weeks, possibly in the capital, Berlin. Authorities in Berlin are racing to track two suspected suicide bombers believed to be planning to strike a prominent location, according to a person familiar with the investigation. Authorities believe the two prospective suicide bombers they are searching for in Berlin arrived in the German capital about six weeks ago from the Waziristan region of Pakistan, according to a person familiar with the investigation. The suspects are trying to avoid detection by wearing Western clothes, avoiding mosques and changing their hideouts regularly, according the people. Authorities believe the two men are waiting for a shipment of bomb detonators that may be transported from Turkey to Berlin by unwitting friends or relatives....
Meanwhile, a second group of terrorists, is reported to be planning to travel to Germany in the coming weeks to launch a small-arms attack on one or more urban centers in the next three months, according to an official familiar with the matter....
The German news magazine Der Spiegel reported Saturday that police fear the attack involving bombs and small arms could be aimed at the German parliament building, known as the Reichstag. A senior intelligence official said the Reichstag hasn't been specifically named a terrorist target, although it fits the outlines of the alleged terrorist goal of attacking an "important office." A temporary fence was erected around the historic building last week as a precaution...

Horrible to say, but I almost with they would. Maybe it would open the Germans’ eyes to whom they are allowing to enter their country.
They have a high percentage of Muslims living within their borders, they are in close proximity to the Middle East and North Africa, they are resource dependent even more so than we are and many of these resources come from these unstable religions, they have long open borders to the East, they have nations that are Islamic that are closely tied to their EU and possibly even bidding for membership (i.e. Turkey), they are within range of present and even more threatening emerging ballistic missile systems..... People forget, Libya was shooting missiles at Italy in the 80s...... The threat of long range missiles and WMD is very real, only especially the Germans don't WANT to see a threat.
At the macro level, much of this phenomena “terrorism” is a product of enabling nations like Syria, Iran, Libya (in the past), Afghanistan (in the past).......... While not politically correct, we are outside the span or reasonable compromise, despite Obama’s pathetic speeches attempting to reach out to them when taking office that the Mullah's surely laughed at. It's a zero sum game between two mutually exclusive paradigms and from the perspective of the enemy this is a religious war. If some want to deny this reality that's very cute/nice, but your opponent will still kill you because that's the reality to him and he's willing to act out on it.
The real question is only when and how bad. The next question should be “how do we react” to aid someone that has always, even in the Cold War, been a luke warm half hearted ally that simply does what they must.

Sure, ‘unwitting’. Since Islam is a peaceful religion, it’s not like there could be any type of widespread conspiracy to attack the West. Therefore we have a couple of rogue Muzzies who may get ‘unwitting’ help from friends or relatives.

This is sort of like the idiots in the British satire “Four Lions” who want to do jihad but can't seem to shoot straight. If this is for real, the rag heads will piss off a nation that has more or less left them alone and tended to pee on the US and it war on terror.
If we had rational people in charge in the USA, they would immediately close all borders to travelers from all religion of peace countries.
What comes to my mind are the numerous Christmas Markets in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. But, maybe the radicals are not that aware of them.
I pray the authorities intercept these loonies in time to prevent a real attack.
