Sarah Palin tells Sean Hannity: I won’t talk to Katie Couric again
Orlando Sentiel ^ | 11/22/2010 | Hal Boedeker

Sarah Palin will be in several places tonight on television.

She will attend “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC, starting at 8 p.m., to see daughter Bristol dance. And former Gov. Palin has a taped interview with Sean Hannity on “Hannity,” starting at 9 on Fox News Channel. (A warning: “Dancing” is supposed to run till 9:11 p.m.)

The headline from “Hannity”: Palin won’t be giving another interview to CBS’ Katie Couric.

About another Couric interview, Palin says: “As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No.”

Palin also weighs in on the state of journalism: “I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting. I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us.

Mistake. Sarah can handle that bimbo.

She just did. Reverse Alinsky baby, she just marginalized her and by extension that other scullery hag Angrea Mitchell.

You don't think that will make their egos even more fragile and chase her more and make them look even crazier?

Somewhere Sarah has either taken a number of Physc Classes or studied Sun Tzu, and or Machiavelli.

Man she is livin' in all their heads rent free....

There’s that and there’s also the fact that Sarah is living in Katie’s head rent free!

Oh she was. But knowing what she knows now Sarah could more than hold her own. She should insist on having the whole interview broadcast uncut of course. Any one who is not a completed progressive would be nuts to let Big media edit any thing you say.

Couric is a has-been. Sarah has so many more ways to reach the public now than that. She’s online, at the tea parties, has a TV show. Really, it’s almost limitless. In the past a candidate had to rely on TV, radio, newspaper and magazine interviews. An entire universe has opened up since then.

Palin should merely say to NPR, CBS, etc.: “I’ll only appear on networks that have more than a 1% viewer rating.”

Only if it was a live broadcast. Editing would make her look like a fool no matter what she said.

Or is Katie living in Sarah's head rent free? Sarah has become a bit thin skinned herself about the media. If you aspire to be president you better be able to handle the media with grace because they are never going to cut her any slack.

Sarah has made too many career mistakes lately to be considered presidential. Your either a reality star or a political leader, hard to be both.

Never consent to an interview without your OWN cameras rolling. Then you can turn their deceitful editing against them.

Good for Sarah!

I’ve never understood why Republicans - especially conservatives - would deliberately stick their arms into rattlesnake nests. It makes even less sense as the Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms continue to plod toward their deserved deaths.

This is the fundamental point and I wish Sarah would say so out loud.

Sarah is right on this one! It’s time that the LSM meet on our terms not their terms, Perky Katie has terrible ratings and even if Katie was somehow fair to Sarah in an interview it would only enhanced Katie and CBS......all of you did notice that the two recent articles that were fair to Sarah(NYT & Real Clear Politics) had greater access to her inner circle than any snotty nosed bias news agency ever had....they want access to Sarah for exclusive reporting but THEY know that they must be fair or lose out on any info. I guarantee you that if there was an interview, CBS would hype the bad interview from 2008, the whole entire week and she would question Palin on some of the same questions she didn’t answer the first time....it’s time not to play their game, we set the rules not them

I’m just being selfish. I’d just love to see Sarah wipe the floor with Couric.

I agree. This is a mistake......Don’t give Katie that power Sarah! Go on the show and prepare for her ambush questions... Go in KNOWING it will be an ambush and Attack before she has the chance to spring her trap!! Sarah Palin is much more media savy than she was a few years ago....

I think she’s doing pretty well myself. So well it makes me wonder who is advising her.

I think it is a mistake to even bring up any of the low points of 2008. And why not interview with Couric, so long as it is a live broadcast and not the 20 minutes they wanted you to see of over an hour of question and answer?

She needed to either not bring it up at all, or have a better answer than not talking to a hostile media. The media WILL be hostile, they cannot be avoided in a Presidential run, you either have a strategy to neutralize their attempts to make you look bad, or you do not.

To me this telegraphs that she doesn't have a plan in place to weather hostile interviews and media manipulation of source material.

That reminds me of something I read about Reagan. A foreign reporter once asked him how a it was possible for a former actor to be elected president. Reagan responded that he could not figure out how anyone could be elected without having been an actor.

I’d love to see that, too but Sarah Palin *is* ratings and Sarah knows that better than anyone else, so she is hurting and slashing Katie just with this announcement.

LOL.
