I’d like to know what the levels are. 0.01 parts per buzillion? Like the pharma in the water scare? Where you’d have to drink a couple of olympic-sized swimming pools per day to get a half day’s dose of Prozac?
A little info,,,
I can't find the one I was lookin’ for,,,
IIRC : Some folks on the clean up have gotten sick from
working in the area,,,
Also many folks still have not been paid,,,
Some of these people using their own boats have not even
been paid for their fuel costs or the cleaning of their
boats...
Likewise. I couldn’t believe that canned mushrooms from China are sold in the US.
Also these tests did not look for the chemicals in Corexit -only oil. Corexit is no picnic for the human body either. They need to test the water for unsafe chemical levels, too.
Will not eat canned mushrooms from China or India. Can’t even guess what the liquid is they pack it in. Can’t be water. Maybe cow piss!!??
I looked up all the info that I could find on Corexit
and posted the links,,,
Just a waste of time,,,
What happens in a few years when more people get sick ?
The fight over Agent Orange is still going on...
What happens in a few years when more people get sick ?
The components comprising Corexit are stable in the non-aqueous solvent system that they are initially formulated in. But the decomposition half-life of those components, once dispersed into aqueous solution, is quite short. Any Corexit used is long gone.
But don't let good science interfere with leftist eco-fantasies.
Prove it. Where are the tests, smarty pants?
Did those include the peer-reviewed science that shows that the half-lives of Corexit components in seawater vary from 8 to 21 days?? Any CoRexit used is LONG, LONG gone. As in "not there any more".
No tests needed. We know what the half-lives of the CoRexit components in sea water are (available in peer-reviewed literature which can be accessed online) I posted links to them when the spill was ongoing, so I'm not going to bother to do so again. We also know the date when the last Corexit was used (also available online). MANY half-lives of even the longest half-lived material (21 days) have passed since that time.
The Corexit IS GONE...period. This is a VERY simple judgment that any chemist (I are one...PhD type) would agree with.
If there are any samples being found today "contaminated" with CoRexit, the more likely explanation is that they have been "salted" by the eco-commies. This is a common tactic used by them. See "lynx hairs" in Washington State, and many similar incidents.
Oh, so in other words, you are just yapping and don’t have any documentation to support your contention that corexit is wonderful. I thought so. Real smart people don’t come on with a blown up Leftist act of superiority.
Got plenty. Just look back at those threads. But the science is REALLY SIMPLE, despite evidently being too complex for you to grasp. If you take the longest half-lived CoRexit component at the highest concentration it was MEASURED at in the Gulf (1 ppm) at the height of its period of maximum release, after 21 days, you have 0.5 ppm, after 42 days, you have 0.25 ppm, after 63 days, you have 0.125 ppm. After 84 days you have 62.5 ppb. And in addition to that totally predictable concentration decrease based on PURE CHEMISTRY, you also have to add the effects of continued dilution AND the fact that the Gulf bacteria eat "CoRexit-type" compounds better than they do oil.
The simple fact is that any CoRexit released to treat the spill is GONE, GONE, GONE. And anybody who says they are finding it probably faked the samples.
And no, no "blown up Leftist act of superiority is involved", whatever you might mean by that phrase. Just hard scientific facts. It's your choice to ignore those facts and remain an ignorant fool.
“Scientists found elevated levels of Anthracene, a toxic hydrocarbon and a by-product of petroleum. The Anthracene levels were double what the FDA finds to be acceptable.”
Would`nt matter to a lot of people in here. They would happily feed it to their kids.
“It is ok. It is delicious. Dont believe the crap.”
Yeah, just another commie conspiracy. And smoking cigarettes is great for your health, also. It`s just a commie conspiracy that says cigs are bad.
Enviros don't recognize "hard scientific facts".
It's against their religion.
Garbage. Just because some of us actually understand the underlying science and speak against the eco-nuts exaggerations and falsehoods does NOT mean we support releases of toxins.
The question that has to be asked here is "why just anthracene?" There are many other compounds in crude oil, some very similar to anthracene, that should ALSO have been found at elevated levels if the exposure had arisen from the BP spill. They were not. Why not???
Ain't THAT the truth. I was in college studying chemistry when the enviro movement was just getting started. I got my PhD during the days when the EPA was being established. Over the years, I have seen the eco-fanatics "gin up" one tempest in a teapot after another, based on hot air and echo-chamber science (actually non-science) using exactly the same methods seen here.
And yet quite a few folks here uncritically suck up the ideas that have their underlay directly from the lies and exaggerations of the eco-nuts, and attack those few of us who actually check out the hard science involved.
