NEW YORK (AFP) – Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, star of "Titanic," was among passengers on a Delta Airline jet forced to make an emergency landing in New York after losing one engine, a report said Monday.

DiCaprio, 36, "avoided disaster at 30,000 feet," UsMagazine.com reported.

The plane, bound for Moscow, had to return to John F. Kennedy airport shortly after take-off Sunday when an engine suddenly shut down.

It would have been sad if all those other passengers and crew had died ...

Lord, I’m sorry - for the other passengers. If he over-acted the way he did in that time-wasting bomb Titanic, then the rest of the passengers probably wanted to throw him out the door to lighten the load on the engines and airframe...

He's had quite a few disasters closer to sea level, however.

Could have been worse. It could have been Al Pacino on board.

If DiCaprio really loved the environment, he’d swim to Moscow.

The most overrated ‘actor” in history. Never sold me on Titanic, Shutter Island or even Inception. Just to show you how much of a hack he really is, try watching Gangs of New York where he was out-acted by Daniel Day Lewis.

For contextual purposes only, this is who he would no longer be dating, had he assumed room temperature....

Again, for contextual purposes only.

Oh please! The plane lost an engine at 30,000 feet. Most private pilots could probably bring the thing back safely.

I didn’t even read the details of the incidents. I just wondered if there were other people on the plane and was glad nothing happened to them.

And I have never liked him in *anything*.

WTF? Is there any more proof needed that we are celebrity worshipers? The news agency should be ashamed for this report. There was not even a passenger count in the story so we could know what other passengers were in danger. Shame on us.
