I see it as we go to war with North Korea, we are going to war with China.

Been that way more or less since the 1950s.

Seoul needs to unload an inmmediate proportional response before this gets out of hand. And THEN the "Peacemakers" can step in.

Sorry, IMHO, not proportional. The Nork leadership could not care less about their troops killed in a proportional response. They’ll set in their dachas, play victim, and plan their next attack.

Disproportional. Massively. Nothing else will cut this short before WWIII breaks out.

I believe the same applies to the Israeli situation. Same enemy, different face. Proportional responses don’t work with that enemy.

Will there be blood? Yup. Lots. The longer the world waits, though, the more blood there will be.

“Been that way more or less since the 1950s.”

Yes, I was stationed there in the mid 60’s. MP, I Corp. Camp Red Cloud up near the DMZ.

I appreciate your response, and I think under any other scenario other than with this jerk in the WH that would be the way to go, but I believe we have to play along for awhile to gain time until adults are back in charge in D.C.

There are too many radicals in the way of successful engagement right now.

“I see it as we go to war with North Korea, we are going to war with China.”

Nope. Time to start thinking outside the box.

China’s “price” for abstaining from a new Korean war (with the expected outcome that South Korea will defeat the North and re-unite the peninsula) will be.... Taiwan. Re-unification.

The ultimate quid-pro-quo.
