2 such apparent lies in the same interview clearly indicate a “lie” not ignorance.
Certainly a “well educated” College administrator knew better. /sarcasm
Often “well educated” means indoctrinated (brain washed).
There is nothing new here just a college professor or administrator lying through their teeth to further a personal agenda.
Our daughter worked at night in a women's residence hall on such a campus. Part of her instructions concerning attacks on female students: Unless an ambulance is needed DO NOT call the police, call campus security.
Many institutions of higher learning are more interested in their image than the safety of their students. The phrase gun free campus may appeal to some parents, but an increasing number want more than just a catchy phrase when it comes to safety for the members of their family.
This college president is following the old party line when he talks about concealed carry. It does make one doubt about how much emphasis he puts on the safety of the students.
About the only thing that this college official can be accused of is a poor grasp of the facts about an example he used to substantiate his argument. The media obvioulsy tried to hide rather than challenge or correct his statement.
In substance, however, I do not think he is wrong in opposing concealed carry on college campuses. There are more than a few students around who may well possess the proper credentials for carrying a concealed weapon, but the general immaturity of today’s college students make me reject the idea of concealed carry on campus. Maybe for college staff and faculty who have a license, ok, but not your average college student.
