The 'customer' stuffed a laptop under his coat, then pulled a knife on a store employee. When he ran out, a group of Marines gathering toys for the Toys for Tots program stopped him, but he stabbed one of them in the back.

The Marine is expected to survive.

Did the cops show up and shoot the Marine? Nope? Must not have been in Las Vegas...

Glad to hear that the Corporal’s injuries do not appear to be serious. Toys for Tots is a charity that Mrs Alfa6 and I are happy to help out with. We often drop off the goodies at the local recruiting station. It is always fun to see the look on the recruiters face when we show up with 5 or 6 large black bags full of goodies:-)

No mention in the article that the perp is expected to recover from his injuries after being subdued by the Marines???

Regards

The punishment for stabbing a Marine in the back should be to submit the perp to the will of the other Marines for 30 seconds.

That would be about the extreme end of the scale for life expectancy.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

I knew the ethnicity of the perp just from the headline, unfortunately.

I really wish I wasn’t right about these things. Nothing would make me happier to read accounts that prove race is irrelevant in crime statistics.

Great Society? We’re doomed.

That young Marine should be mildly chastised for permitting USMC property to be damaged in the event. Thus, once he has recuperated, he should be afforded some extra training on how in future to insure that it is the perp that is damaged, and not his person.

I’m sure there are some qualified USMC instructors in the area who will be more than willing to offer him useful tips and a little practice. It is good to keep up with such practical matters.

My husband pulled a robber off the cashier at his CVS store, threw the robber on the ground and sat on him until the police arrived. In the struggle the robber cut my husband up with a box cutter. The result? 47 stitches and CVS wanted to fire him. According to company policy he was supposed to just stand there while the robber attacked the cashier (17 year old young lady).

A Marine reservist collecting Toys for Tots donations at Augusta's Best Buy was stabbed in the back this afternoon while helping subdue a shoplifting suspect... Attaway, of the 500 block of College Street in Waynesboro, has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a knife in commission of a crime.
The POS shouldn't live to see trial. Thanks PAR35.
