TEHERAN, Iran Iran's state radio says a man attempting to hijack a plane bound for Syria was arrested on board.
The radio says security guards on the Teheran-Damascus flight prevented the attempt and arrested the suspect. No one was hurt in the incident.
The report says an unspecified number of Iranian lawmakers were on the plane, en route to a parliamentary conference in Damascus.
Saturday's report did not identify the would-be hijacker or provide further details.

Wonder if the man arrested was a danger to the West or a danger to Islam. He may have been a problem to Iran’s present regime. Or, far more likely, he may have been a danger to no one and been merely a prop to enhance Iran’s image upon the world stage.

Yes I wonder if he is Israeli...
and then again you may be right that it is propaganda...

I can understand someone trying to hijack a plane out of Iran, but to SYRIA? Great horny toads! Who would think Syria was better than Iran? Trading Ahmadinejad’s gulag for Assad's gulag is an improvement?

The plane was going to Syria...
The article doesnt say where the hijacker wanted to go...

The man or woman hijacker has already been tortured to death and his/her immediate family have been arrested and tortured to death. The secondary members of the family have been rounded up, tortured, made to sign confessions and sentenced to prison and hard labor for 5 years. The neighbors and tertiary family members have been rounded up and threatened with violence. The Iranians and Syrians are in the same dictatorial kettle and the treatment of such offenders is sure to be horrendous.

A spokesman for the TSA acknowledged the agency’s humiliation as it falls behind in the record of “would-be” terrorist busts.
“We will be commencing Phase 2 enhancements to the Obama administration’s feel-up policy. All passengers will now receive a wedgie and de-pantsing. This is a matter of utmost urgency and necessary to protect the workers of America.”

...and the treatment of such offenders is sure to be horrendous. IOW, they've been granted political asylum in the US, relocated to a new home in suburban US, and are now being trained to work as TSA inspectors. /s

Then again he might have been trying to capture or kill the parliamentry members.
To: R. Scott
Those that do live there are DYING to leave but cannot. This is also known as a Theocratic REPRESSIVE and extremely crazed regime. I can understand the desparation of an individual who wants to hijack a passenger plane to Syria of all places! The problem is, is that Syria is aligned with Iran and would therefore kill the hijacker at the behest of Iran or visa-versa.
