"Maybe AMD should get back to making chips instead of participating in political pandering and Intel wouldn’t be kicking their sorry asses so hard."

they sold off their fabs years ago.

I live in such a pretty place—a town just a few miles from the city of Austin. It’s such a shame that this lovely city is run by liberal idiots, but the huge main campus of the University of Texas is located in the heart of the city, and I am told that is why the city is so left leaning.

I bet in a few years when the company run into trouble, this will be the first cut. If something can not generate profit, its a mis allocation of resource (nothing but feel good)

Read the article... it lists what they paid for installation. It also lists that it was a net loss to the company even with the fed repayments.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has installed three electric vehicle charging stations at its office campus in Southwest Austin, the company said Tuesday.

First three in to work in the morning -- win. The rest... so sad.

Brilliant.

No AMD employees currently drive such vehicles to work, but several have expressed an interest, said Justin Murrill, the company's global sustainability manager.

This position should be the first to be downsized.

Hm. Maybe AMD hires employees bright enough to not fall for the scam?

> add this one to your "stocks to short" list.

Then you would have to short the entire tech sector.

“AMD said the stations cost a total of $31,000, but there is a 50 percent federal tax credit that applies.”

“Tax Credit” = subsidy = taxpayer funded = Increase in national debt.

Liberals have so many ways to destroy this country.

And does AMD charge for the charge?

Each battery hooked up to a charging station will be the equivalent of running an electric dryer for the 4-6 hours required to charge them. I wonder if Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has ran the math on how much that electricity is going to cost them?

These electric cars should be considered coal powered cars since the electricity for them comes mainly from coal fired generator plants. Until we go nuclear, namely Thorium derived fission, we will be making more CO2.

Believing is one thing. Diverting corporate resources is quite another.
