The U.S. Air Forces senior officer has acknowledged concern over the Lockheed Martin F-35 program, in particular slow software development that may push the Joint Strike Fighters operational debut into 2016.
There are some issues with respect to timing on software development, the Air Force chief of staff, Gen. Norton Schwartz, told a group of defense writers this week in Washington. Oh No. Please not a ‘Green’ Fighter.
This is why it was stupid to stop F-22 production. By the time the f-35 bugs are worked out unit cost will be the same as the more capable f-22.
“Stupid is as stupid does.”
replace??
Wow.. talk about a short service life?
It takes a minimum of 10 years to bring a new aircraft (hello, MV/CV-22 Osprey) into service and the planes can hang around for 40+ years. The F-22 has barely begun its service life and the F-35 is having teething problems.
Now is the time talk about a new fighter? You gotta be smoking some really good weed in USAF headquarters. This is totally insane — not to mention there is NO money.
The F-35 is an excellent example of what multinational fascism will get America.
