251,000 State Department documents, many of them secret embassy reports from around the world, show how the US seeks to safeguard its influence around the world. It is nothing short of a political meltdown for US foreign policy.

Agreed. And I don’t believe for a second that Bradley Manning leaked all of this information by himself.
Aren't we lucky?
This is what you get when you choose emotion over substance and DEMONSTRATED character and experience!!
Where will this “O” fiasco leave us?
I wonder how the Media is going to run and help their wonder boy Obama now? Somehow they will make this all about Bush..... I am already hearing snippets about how this is caused because Bush made all the departments share information after 911... .This will be the lefts excuse mark my words...
If republicans fail to hold Obama accountable over this then they will become the whipping boys for it.
I think.... well, I can’t say what I actually think... but it involves:
Gay tiff
Soon to meet an untimely end
maybe three months
heart attack?
car accident?
drug overdose?
suicide?
okay, probably less than three months...10 days?
Anyone want to start a pool?
I feel so much better knowing these people run our country. :(:(:(:(:(:(
This is Smart Diplomacy at its best.
;-)
Someone on another website said that in Holland, they are saying that a US soldier leaked the info. I can’t imagine that a US soldier would have that high a security clearance, but I was curious. So I went online to read news in the Netherlands.
Although this has nothing to do with wikileaks, and it’s over two years old, I certainly found it interesting and scary!
Radical Imam Works for Defence Ministry
THE HAGUE, 23/05/08 - A radical Islamic preacher has been hired by the government as a computer expert. Jamal A., alias Abu Ismail, thus gained access to the ICT network of the defence ministry, De Telegraaf reported yesterday.
The preacher is associated with the As-Soennah mosque in The Hague. He serves as right-hand man to its controversial Syrian Imam Jneid Fawaz who cursed filmmaker Theo van Gogh shortly before he was assassinated in November 2004.
Abu Ismail has confirmed that he regularly carries out work for various government organisations on a temporary basis, according to De Telegraaf. “I have worked not just for Defence, but also for other government institutions.”
His work for the computer centre of Defence is said to have led to an investigation by the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD), after which the preacher was removed, the newspaper reported.
Yep. How much time do you give the other guy?
I fully believe that Obama wants all this “leaked” whether he publicly admits it or not because the outcome is the diminishment of the United States stauture and a move to a one-world order of business.
Note, I'll believe that wikileaks is impartial when they leak out Obama's long form birth certificate, his college records, and his original manuscript for his book.
Imagine if someone leaked Putin’s or Hu’s secret documents. Or Chavez’s for that matter. He wouldn’t do it twice, for sure.
Can’t prove it, but my gut feeling is that 0bama did this, like Clinton declassified all the nuke bomb secrets. Somehow someone way up in the power tree thinks this is a good idea.
Exactly what I was thinking. How come there are no Russian cables here? Or Iranian-based cables, or some other thug regime?
Not until you explain wth you're talking about.
Fail, after fail, after MEGA-FAIL! on Obama’s watch.
This President has been a disaster for this nation.
“How come there are no Russian cables here?”
Vladmir would investigate the disappearance of the perp personally, and would express deep regret, like when the entire conservative wing of the Polish government went down in an airplane.
Same for Iranian secret documents.
Anybody knows you don’t mess with a superpower, and would not be looking at a jail term if caught. Or trial, for that matter.
It will be interesting to see how old this info is - it could be stuff from the Bush years and not recent items. Either way, somehow the folks that disclose this kind of stuff should be gone after and stopped.
