Senate passes new food police bill: Roll call vote 73-25 (15 R's vote yea)

I mentioned last week that a new Big Foodie bill opposed by a diverse coalition of limited government activists, small family farmers, and left-leaning “locovores” was coming down the pike.

Today, I’m disappointed to tell you, the regulatory expansion bill masquerading as a “safety” measure passed by a large margin — with stomach-turning Republican support.

Here’s the roll call vote.

The 15 power-grabby Republicans who voted for it:

Alexander (R-TN)
Brown (R-MA)
Burr (R-NC)
Collins (R-ME)
Enzi (R-WY)
Grassley (R-IA)
Gregg (R-NH)
Johanns (R-NE)
Kirk (R-IL)
LeMieux (R-FL)
Lugar (R-IN)
Murkowski (R-AK)
Snowe (R-ME)
Vitter (R-LA)
Voinovich (R-OH)

The Senate bill must be reconciled with a version that passed the House of Representatives in 2009 before Congress adjourns for the year.

Congress cuts off my formal medical access and now they cut off my supplements. Will the solution to social security bankruptcy be to kill folks when they reach “retirement age?” That is not even a ridiculous thought with the passage of the FDA law on top of obamacare.

No home-grown vegetables.
No supplements without prescription.
No prescriptions if you are deemed to be past usefulness.
Plus I am sure there are lots more things in this law we have not been apprised of yet.

Now all we need is Amnesty in some form and we need never hear about that “Constitution” stuff again or have to mess with changing parties or having to decide anything. And it is Republicans who have done this to us. The new ones will be no different. Once we get our guys elected they are not our guys anymore. This is sort of a Vicarious Republic.

“LeMieux (R-FL)
Crist’s RINO butt-boy strikes again.”

Isn't it GREAT that Senator Rubio is taking LeMieux’s seat come January 4th! And LeMieux best not even THINK about running for Socialist Bill Nelson's seat when he just finished voting with Nelson!!

I hope every Florida Freeper will be active to make sure we get behind a real Constitutional Conservative to replace Socialist Bill Nelson in 2012!

At my age it does not increase my government dependency. It removes my capacity to take care of myself somewhat in that supplements will now become illegal but it does not increase my dependency on the government because the obamacare has already cut me off from medical care when it takes full effect and it WILL take effect because these Republicans will not repeal it.It is too useful to them and the new guys will be brought to understand that before they reach effectiveness.

We have the list of RINO’s. And I will be checking it MORE than TWICE between now and 2012!

Hope EVERYONE realizes how important Primary Elections are to select the best Conservative to support! None of the comments like, “I'll just wait and see who wins the Primary and then I will support that candidate to face the DEM”.

I am sorry to say, I heard a lot of that during the last Primary election! Too many folks decided to sit back and “see how the Primary shakes out” before they got active in supporting a candidate. Made me ill!!

“We can hope that the House of Reps has a better Conservative/RINO ratio.”

Yes, I believe it does. However, I am watching closely for any “RINOISM” that may surface among the House members. Will be making a list and certainly checking it more than TWICE!

Kick him out. Start now. Ridicule, over and over again. He MUST GO! We are taking Florida back and if the snowbirds don’t like it, they can get the hell out.

Yep, As far as I am concerned, the three strike rule has long passed. I am keeping a listing in a spreadhseet of how every member of congress votes and going back to the 11th congress as well because many Republican congresscritters voted for the house version as well.
