WikiLeaks Fallout: Should Hillary Clinton Resign?
Politics Daily ^ | 11/30/2010 | David Korn

Posted on 11/30/2010 9:40:51 AM PST by OldDeckHand

Should Hillary Clinton resign as secretary of state due to the WikiLeaks revelations? My friend Jack Shafer at Slate makes a good case. His reason: Clinton, like predecessor Condoleezza Rice, signed orders instructing U.S. foreign service officers to spy on the diplomats of other nations. Cables went out under her name telling State Department officials overseas to collect the fingerprints, facial images, DNA, and iris scans of African leaders, to obtain passwords, credit card numbers, and frequent flyer accounts used by foreign diplomats, and to gather private information on United Nations officials, including Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Hopefully BO’s wikileaks will backfire on him by causing the Clintons to go ahead and release all their files on his BC, foreign citizenships, stolen social security numbers, passports, school records, foreign campaign donations, voter fraud & intimidation, homosexuality etc.

"But calculated to embarrass her with the leaders of other countries and to offend her leftist base."

Yes, I think that's right. To me, it seems like the far left - the left that Korn and his ilk represents - are truly giddy over these cables. It allows them to push the "America is evil" mantra, they all love and subscribe to. It also underscores how much they hate America, and are overjoyed with anything that diminishes its standing in the world.

If Hil resigns she will have more time to gird for her next presidential run. She takes her orders just like Obama does.

Incidentally, Jerome Corsi hasn’t found any classified info in the leaks yet. He thinks the world needs to know what is going on.

Looks like BO’s WikiLeaks are already backfiring on him.

FWIW, I believe that “classified info” is not determined by Jerome Corsi’s opinion. The content itself doesn’t really matter. If the data was taken from SIPRnet and if it has been declared “classified” — then it’s classified. Wrongful dissemination of the information is a serious crime.

If BO has nothing to hide, then why is he evading questions about his regime’s WikiLeaks?

"Incidentally, Jerome Corsi hasn’t found any classified info in the leaks yet"

What? The cables themselves are classified. Their content, whatever it may or may not be is wholly irrelevant with respect to the illegality of their unauthorized dissemination.

Moreover, I'll take you word about Corsi's opinion, but I can't for the life of me understand how anyone would think that our internal discussions about America's foreign policy is "good for the world". Why Corsi think the "world" needs to know what's going on, is truly a mystery.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton says that he does not believe UN officials were directed to spy at the United Nations. “I don’t believe that cable…. I think it probably came from somewhere in the intelligence community. I wish we could find that out because it’s obviously very damaging.”

I really think some of this State Dept leak was done to take Hilary out of the 2012 election.

Amb. Bolton diplomatic statements are tantamount to saying that BO regime WikiLeaks are acts of treason. I seriously doubt that there would be wholesale, rank and file, procedural changes from Rice’s State Dept. to Clintons.

Unfortunately America has a very short memory when it comes to this contemptible ogre. America seemed to welcome this cow as a legitimate nominee for President, forgetting the long trail of sleaze she accumulated over her “career” prior to 2008.

This is nothing compared to the shameless scandals that have littered her past. Right now she's the SOS without any credibility, no diplomatic history and no foreign affairs experience. Even Halfbright had a more legitimate case to be SOS.

If she resigned it wouldn't matter, the MSM continues to trumpet this hag as qualified to hold high public office. If she can manage the wrinkles on her face and doesn't look too old, this bitch plans to run in 2012 or 2016. And the stupid idiots in the democrap party will all jump in behind her. The MSM will jump on the bandwagon also.

It would be nice if she did resign and we didn't have to hear from her as often.

I agree but BO’s WikiLeaks have clearly backfired on him.

It is obvious that the BO regime is the source of the WikiLeaks by the fact that no information about BO’s BC, foreign citizenships, stolen social security numbers, passports, school records, foreign campaign donations, voter fraud & intimidation, muslim faith & homosexuality etc. was leaked.

Consider: Only 200 documents have been released. If Assange has anything to the effect that you outline, he has the ultimate blackmail device and will not disclose it at this stage of the game.

This is just the appetizer, IMO. A guy like Assange would not blow his wad on the opening salvo.

From what I gather, outside of the Hillary spying aspect, I would imagine that there is a lot of private snickering among the groups mentioned in the releases. I highly suspect every country shares similar unsavory opinions about their diplomatic counterparts, but don’t share them in public. This gives a lot of fuel for faux-public outrage by these various embassies, but, come on - does anyone think Ahmahdinejad is writing sonnets to the Saudi leadership in his spare time?

That said, the fact that they ARE public necessitates saving face. And with regard to Hillary, she’s toast in diplomatic circles. And this does remove any presidential possibilities. Even Democrats agree she has to go.

The intrigue here is not what has been released, it’s what HASN’T been released. And I submit that even though it might seem there’s nothing directly regarding Obama, Assange is keeping those cards close to his vest - and the White House knows it.

No doubt the Clintons will torch and scorch BO ASAP. I suspect that the only reason that they didn’t release in 2008 everything that they had on BO’s BC, foreign citizenships, stolen social security numbers, passports, school records, foreign campaign donations, voter fraud & intimidation, muslim “faith”, homosexuality etc., was because they did not want to alienate 90+% of the Blacks who once supported BO.

Hopefully, BO’s WikiLeaks will prompt all the dems and repubs who have been burned by BO to go ahead and fire back with all the dirt that they have on BO.

I couldn’t disagree with you more. It is obvious from the following video that the only “one” who has been disgraced by BO’s WikiLeaks is BO himself. Notice that BO is afraid to even talk to reporters about his WikiLeaks.

If BO has nothing to hide, then why is he evading questions about his regime’s WikiLeaks?

Yes, this is not a good time for Obama, nor will it be helpful to future presidents either. I don't see how this helps him, at all.

It's also interesting that Bolton thinks that the UN-specific cable is bunk. He would be in a position to know. Then again, he loves his country, so I wouldn't put it past him to try to control the damage, even if it marginally helps Obama.
