The House of Representatives approved a decades-old settlement worth $4.6 billion Tuesday that resolves two class-action suits filed against the federal government by black farmers and Native Americans.

The thousands who joined the suit argued that the government discriminated against them as they applied for loans for agricultural ventures.

The House approved the package 256-to-152.

Black farmers would receive $1.2 billion, after they alleged they were cheated out of loans from the Agriculture Department. The government will direct $3.4 billion to American Indians who say the Interior Department swindled them out of royalties from natural resources like gas and timber.

Farmers should have a pretty good notion of what this is - i.e. manure.

I have a family member who worked this case. Fraud doesn’t even begin to cover how corrupt this was. The Hispanic and Female discrimination law suits that were lost are also going to be re-opened. They will pay them also.

Keep in mind these are not loans, but handouts. More of the Kenyan’s get whitey while we can steal his money thru political corruption. Take whitey’s taxes and give it to his lazy Bros.

Is there any part of our society that is not circling the sewer drain right now? No wonder we are broke.

“Black farmers alleged they were cheated out of loans . . . American Indians who say the Interior Department swindled them out of royalties”

My family has had money in the form of taxes confiscated from them for decades to support people who won’t work.

I wants my settlement, too.

Why is the government providing loans in the first place? Shouldn’t this be the role of a bank?

Eliminate the loan program - voila! No discrimination!

I'm seriously considering having my birth record amended to reflect being half black and half...whatever else gets free stuff.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

What a complete farce and rip-off of the taxpayers. I doubt this would pass after the Republicans take over in January.

What a disgrace. Shows what BS the Democrats are talking with their bipartisan debt commission

Is this an extension of the Pigford case?

http://pajamasmedia.com/zombie/2010/07/27/pigford-v-glickman-86000-claims-from-39697-total-farmers/

We need the names of the critters who voted for this, again.
