OK, but can they repeal during the lame duck session? White House has already said it should be a legislative action. Will it pass?
If it has to happen (and that’s a BIG if), then it should be legislative rather than judicial.
There's no massive amount of gays who really want to serve their country, but are prevented by DADT. The gays who are currently in the military have joined with DADT in place, and almost all accept it. It simply means that they need to be discreet.
It was put into place by an Executive Order (Bill Clinton). It can be removed the same way.
The survey will be redone in San Francisco.
That'll teach you!

“There’s no massive amount of gays”
That’s really all there is to it.

Can ANYONE point me to the text of the DADT survey questions? Is the text a national security issue or what? I can’t find it through any search engine anywhere. Very, very weird (so to speak).
Looks like there might be a link in comment #26. Sola Veritas and a couple of other freepers took the survey. Maybe he knows where to find the ?s.
It was an online survey and I was so disgusted by the clear intent to come to a specific conclusion that I didn’t even try to save it. Not sure where you’d look, although they must be saved somewhere. If you have a .mil account, maybe you can find it.

I’m sorry but I don’t. I thought I might let everyone know of some personal confirmation of soldiers avoiding the survey out of fear.
I took the survey and answered it as best as was possible to express my displeasure and concern about allowing open homosexuality in the Army. My wife also completed the survey she received. The way it worked for military is you were sent a letter with website to go to and a PIN number that would let you fill out the survey on line. My wife’s survey was sent via U.S. Mail.
Friday I was talking with a young (25-30) female soldier (a Staff Sergeant) about the survey. She told me she started the survey and after about 3 questions thought it to be a set up and exited taking it out of fear of reprissal that she opposed open homosexuals. So, here is an example of someone opposed that didn’t answer out of fear. I wonder is she indicative of others? Also, she spent a tour of duty in Iraq when combat operations were still going on. She told me that she had to avoid the showers back at the FOBs because the dike lesbians would hang out in the showers to oggle female soldiers. She said she had to carry a weapon to the shower and threaten some to be left alone. This is a fine young woman/soldier that I know is not one to make up stories. Of course, the high brass doesn’t want to hear about this sort of thing.
The survey was bogus.
