WASHINGTON – The State Department severed its computer files from the government's classified network, officials said Tuesday, as U.S. and world leaders tried to clean up from the embarrassing leak that spilled America's sensitive documents onto screens around the globe.

There’s a history of massive leaks in our govt.

Walker gave the key codes and information on our encryption systems to the Russians. They had the flight plans for the B52s during Vietnam which helped them have SAMs in place.

Hansen likewise gave massive amounts of information to the Russians.

Both of these guys cost BILLIONS in damage and quite a few deaths were directly attributed to them.

This isn’t different in scale but is far more public of a failure. How one low level private managed to get all this information is mind boggling.

The information wasn’t intercepted. It was copied off a govt computer and carried out on a USB key and CD ROM.

Sharing wasn’t the problem. An utter lack of controls over who had access to the information is the problem.

Can’t access WikiLoozers from work, or my computer gets scrubbed (and I get canned, for all I know).

Yes, Heaven forbid that everybody should know how the rest of the Middle East feels about Iran. From what I've heard, these leaks might be more embarrassing for other countries than they are for the U.S..

Official gov't line is the same as Officer Barbrady's: Nothing to see here, move along!

It's still up, and they're still adding more leaked cables as we speak.

One of my co-workers thinks that the Banksters are responsible for the current clampdown on Wikiloozers, as well as the rape allegations against Assange, because they’re next in line to be exposed.

Don't know.. I'm pretty certain any decision to move on this had to involve the White House. So far the site's still operating, so whatever actions are supposedly being taken aren't all that speedy.
