RICHMOND, Va. - A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed Liberty University's lawsuit challenging the Obama administration's new federal health care law, declaring that a provision requiring most individuals to obtain insurance is constitutional.

Essentially, in matters of civil law, you can judge shop. That means, you have a pretty good idea of what verdict you’re going to end up with going into the fight.
That looks like a book I would appreciate. Check out my profile page.
It will be very warm where this judge is going! Assuming of course that he does not ask Christ into his heart before he breathes his last
Next stop...appeals court...then SCOTUS.
BTW: This is NOT the VA AGs lawsuit on the same issue. That decision is still pending. Liberty University filed this suit separately from the one that the Attorney General filed in Richmond.

WHEW...thanks for the info
Just because you like your chains doesn’t mean they aren’t chains.
Resistance is futile.
You will learn to love Big Brother and the power of the STATE.
If they tell you to buy something you WILL shut up and do it.
It’s for the chilruns(tm)
Yup!
We have to accept the fact that the judiciary has degenerated into a political body. However, if the U.S. govt. ultimately prevails on this issue, we will also have to accept the fact that the Constitution has effectively been repealed.
Just because you like gobbledygook posts doesn’t mean they aren’t gobbledygook.
Which will necessitate the people falling back to the Declaration of Independence.
I’ve known several lawyers and all I can say is that law school causes brain damage. Even conservative lawyers, some of whom I like, have some screws loose. I’m not joking. Something happens to them during law school and they come out half baked.
The fact that you believe a move to impeach a federal judge who often makes unconstitutional decisions from the bench is only being considered because some people don’t “like” his decisions.
Such an opinion is a clear indication of a person who doesn’t mind an ever expanding federal government that continually acts to reduce the freedom of the American people. Those are the chains I referred to.
Impeachment is by votes; it’s a question of whether the votes are there.
It’s not a matter of impeachment because “I don’t like a judgment”. It is a matter of getting a judiciary that has a conception of the Constitution that is consistent with the continued existence of the country as a Free Republic. Any judge who believes that the federal government can regulate anything that might affect commerce is unfit for the bench, because he believes there are no limitations to federal power whatsoever, which destroys the entire design of the Constitution. If you understand what the Founders were trying to achieve, you would see this as treason to their objectives.
Bump. He certainly deserves it.
“This Judge is an idiot. He has basically said that Congress can require people to buy anything that affects a market. Nothing makes the health care market special in this regard and under this justification congress could require people to purchase all sorts of things that may be deemed important by congress. What next require people to buy new cars every year because it benefits the auto-industry and thus the employees and thus the nation? Judges like this and people who think like this leave me little faith in anything short resetting the whole damn system. You cant reason or compromise with those who dont accept any rules of the game except those they make up to fit their own desires.”
The SCOTUS’ left and right wings have assented generally with the premise that Congress can do anything affecting markets under the commerce clause. You can’t reason with judges when they rule without any real oversight. When was the last time a justice feared impeachment? Ever?
